I'm waiting 'for other human players' .... In single player?

It's just typical that as soon as I have a decent map for once (I reduced number of city-states dramatically and AIs by 1 to give actual room to expand without having war declared on turn 3), the game comes up with a whole new bug. On turn 26, when I click 'next turn' the game screws up and claims that it is waiting for other human players to end their turn, even though I'm in single player.

Can anyone help me because I want to carry on with this game. Cheers in advance.

It says I don't have the required mods when I try to load the save.

civnoob13 can you please tell us what mods you were using, or was it just DLC (which I mightn't have)?

You have a unit that needs orders - click the 'select next unit' arrow to find it. I'm having this issue as well; the 'a unit needs orders' button never shows up.

Confirmed same issue here with 1.0.1.383 and zero mods. The bug seems to occur when you select "Next Turn" which results in units needing orders, but the message stays on "Please Wait..." instead of "Unit Needs Orders" like it used to.

I've also encountered this issue with the 1.0.1.383 patch - a save and reload fixes the issue.

Thanks - I looked for a unit that still needed orders and then the turn ended once I'd given commands.

Thanks for that, it was a good clue and it helped me continue my game. But I still think there are two problems:
1. The big one is if you have two units left to move. In my experience, you move the first unit, and then the graphic control with "select next arrow" button that lets you move to the next unit disappears, and then the cursor turns into the regular "game is busy" cursor. To the user, it looks like the game is computing other turns, but it isn't. Unless you remember or figure out the keyboard control for finding the next unit, you could be left confused.

2. The "hover" text for the "Next Turn"/"Please Wait" button, when the label becomes, "Please Wait", ALWAYS says it is waiting for a human player, even when it isn't! Combine this with what happens above, and there is no way to distinguish between these two states. Either one waits a sufficiently long time, and starts pressing keyboard commands, or something changes in the UI, giving the user a clue that the next turn is being computed.

Thanks Dennis!

thanks dshirk for the update, i cant wait for this to get sorted lol - lets see who can release a fix first - a modder or Firaxis lol :)

Oh and btw tell your colleagues to keep the DLC flowing.... :)

This. I, too, am having this problem on Single Player and I've never used any mods. It seems like the "A Unit Needs Orders" button is supposed to show up but doesn't.

Glad to hear a fix is coming, but it luckily hasn't been anything near a deal breaker.

After the last patch (1.0.1.383, if i'm right), it seems to me that something has changed about auto-moved units at the end of turn.

When you press End Turn, the game auto-moves the units that are on Go-To mode, and if some unit has remaining Movement Points, those units are selected to complete their move.

Now, two things seem to have been changed.
1- at that moment, you can ONLY move those units! You cannot move other units, even if they haven't moved in this turn.
2- as soon as you move those units, the turn automatically ends without asking further confirmations.

Is it right?

Was only thinking about this today, I have noticed it too and it is very annoying. I had a situation where I had pressed 'next turn' before realizing that I had an enemy close to a worker. The game took me to my worker, giving me the option of moving him away from his task, but would not let me select my nearby tank to kill the enemy. As soon as I moved the worker, the next turn occurred without giving me the option of attacking first.

Yeah, it can be annoying, but I see it as "just one of those things" that you eventually get used to. After a couple of hours at a stretch, I also tend to get a little sloppy and forget to move my settler, kill the enemy, and such.:p

Even more annoying is when you've put one of your units on "fortify 'til healed," and he gets attacked a couple of times between turns. Since the unit never prompts you to cancel the heal for a bit & shoot back, you sometimes get all involved with a couple of dozen active units & forget about that one.

Oh yes. I mean fortify until healed is fine and all. But if your head gets bashed in in the meantime, you would want to react, no?

Additionally I find the city attack option a bit unfortunate. Sure, you get a exclamation mark on the right that tells you a city can attack an enemy, but if you don't click it, the game ignores it. It is not game breaking, but I wish it would cycle through those cities that can attack just the same as it cycles through units.

A third annoyance is that if you move a unit to a city, it will not get automatically selected next turn (as it parks in the city). Which is very annoying if you move a large army a far distance. I tend to forget and leave "parked" units behind unintentionally.
