^^^^^ yep, for sure. I might try and play the late game efficiently at some point. In my game, I ended up fighting Riflemen with Bombers and Tanks. I haven't seen that on Deity before.
I wouldn't wait for Transports. Galleons are 26.7H per unit space, Transports 31.3H. The speed difference is negligible with the navigation promo and, if you want to go all out, chaining. We don't have that many coastal cities, so the sooner you start building ships the better.
Destroyers can be built very late. You only need two to begin with, and these can catch up with the main stack (9 movement, or 10 movement in a Drydock city). The AI won't attack Destroyers with wooden ships, even with an overwhelming numerical advantage, and later reinforcements can intercept any of GK's invading stacks.
I don't know, but I'd imagine that Cavalry and Fighters are the way to go here. If you go from Railroad ----> Combustion ----> Rifling/Flight, Pacal can go from Physics ----> Rifling/Flight. Or, if Pacal is still to slow, have him research Physics and then Electricity/Radio for late Bombers. In the mean time, mass whip Cuirassiers. The initial landing party can be upgraded
en masse after capturing one coastal city, if you're ready to set sail before Rifling. Bring a handful of Cannons and a Machine Gun or two for the first attack, and then churn out Carriers and Fighters to inflict collateral. Just watch out for Genghis Khan's super Knights.
Oh, and for a quicker victory, settle a junk city in the northern tundra on our continent.
@Izuul: I don't think I'll revive the DDD series, since it has lain dormant for about a year and I ran it at a time when I was still learning how to beat Deity.

But I'll try to post another Fractal fun map in a week or so.
