Immortal University 70 - Isabella

Spoiler :

This is a pretty tough start. After a little scouting to check out the crap land around me, I decided a HA rush is the way to go. My research order was hunting>AH>wheel>writing>mining>BW>HBR. I bulbed math with my GS then chopped out a whole bunch of HAs. So far I've taken 2 of Catherine's cities and I getting ready to push for the capital. Oh and apparently I own the christian holy city now(choose religions aren't on right?).

Here's a shot of my empire

Immortal University needs like a schedule like Noble's Club. The games are far too few to really be much of a series.

Hmm Noble Club is every other week, exactly like Immortal University. In fact since I was ill and ended up missing one that should of been released I post games 3 weeks in arow to make up :/

If you mean something else, then I missed what you meant :)

Had some time to burn this weekend so gave it a shot anyway, though still don't like it when people TAMPER with what is to be a standard map.

I even forgot about Izzy's UU, and since my over-whealming position & monster UU stack means the game's 99.9% won... I'm not going to even bother finishing this one out from my position.

Next map please...

Obsolete, if you have some free time time, could you please show master class at this map (Insland_sea) for Warlodrs 2.08/2.13 Deity? I know that you don't re-roll maps. So just interesting how you would play an average start...Espesially interesting how you would play out a game before grens/cavs.

I sorta clocked the suprise from t1.

Spoiler :

I agree with a lot of the map comments. I almost felt compelled to go for an HA rush due to lack of food. I really struggled for a second city beyond the sheep/horse.

I agree Toku would of had a field day with barb cities. Stopping an early DOW from him might of been tough as he already had 2 strong melee units a requirement in deciding factor if an AI goes into war mode.

The map was sort of designed so you would attack the Russians and then find the neighbour from hell. Of course diplomatic tools could get Toku to friendly.

Overall I would of liked to of seen 1-2 more food resources in the start given the free units Toku had.

800 BC ragequit

Spoiler :
Settled west towards Pacal. Got DOWed by Russia and Japan 800 BC despite sharing reli with Russia.

The land is not great but usable. Worse is that we have to research every damn worker tech. Really annoying.

It's true that I only built one settler all game. But I had more than two cities by the time I started upgrading and hammering out my UUs. Stupid Russians & Pacal kept Dogpiling on me for stupid , like not giving a tech.

You know, I really would not want to play this leader on Deity. I need my industrious guys, or Philos.

I give up, Oracle 2080 BC on Imm?
It's beatable as Obsolete showed, but...it surely is no fun.

Expansive civ, time to practice my oracle->fast great merchant->mass great people farm strategy.

Spoiler :

Ironically going for marble slows down oracle strategies. You need the wheel and masonry, neither of which is on our way. In this case, teching bronze working would also slow it down.
Put a lot of excess hammers in stonehenge from both my cities. Got about 40 gold from it.
Went polytheism instead of meditation because we have marble, and though we won't get it in time for oracle, 2x hammers->gold for temple of artemis is a big deal.

The second city will get a free border pop. The second city has a few important functions:
blocking off land, and pumping settlers to help catch up.
The missionary is a useful early scout.
Working the lake for extra commerce, we need tech badly

If we find toku nearby, we might want to donate a settler.
