Imperialism II PBEM

I had similar issues initially with Windows 10 but they rectified themselves without me doing anything. I just tried running ToTPP again after a few weeks and hey presto it worked. I think there was a popup about enabling Direct X (I clicked yes without really paying much attention to it). I'm sorry this doesn't help much.

I'll try that. And if that doesn't work, FoxAhead gave a new suggestion on the Civ2 Tech Support subforum. I hope to have this resolved soon.

So.... Any luck around here?
I'm still getting a persistent problem. No number of restarts have fixed it. It's a new one that cropped up after I got the previous one fixed by a post on the Civ2 Tech Subforum. My new problem hasn't even gotten a response there yet. I'm going to have to try some more serious fiddling here (which may fix things or may make them worse, but I have try something). It's really angering me... :(

I do think people should consider hitting a thrift store and grabbing an old PC or Laptop specifically for CIV2 purposes.
As the new versions of WinBlows grows ever more 32-bit unfriendly, it seems the best option is to use an old machine.

Good news, everyone! TNO's return and new iteration of his ToTPP seems to have fixed my lingering and mysterious problems getting ToT going. I'll have my turn up either today or tomorrow...

I'm still excited, but slightly less so than 12 days ago.

World domination, anyone?

I humbly apologize. I kind of got busy and forgot the game had resumed. Please forgive me. I will make an effort to play today and post a turn.

My apologies for the delay. Now that I'm back on track, I won't let such a calamity happen again.

No real news.

BTW, can someone please remind me which buttons allow diagonal unit movement on keyboards without a number pad? I chose to swallow some wasted, inefficient moves this turn rather than delay the game further, but could someone please remind me. I haven't used a computer without a number pad for quite a few years.

The last time I had a computer without a number pad, there was a function key on the keyboard that turned some of the regular typing keys into a number pad. If Civ 2 has alternate keys to achieve this, I've never heard of them. My advice would be to buy a USB number pad to connect to your computer when you play Civ 2 and use that. As a temporary work around, you can "goto" a square to move diagonally.

Acapulco Captured from the corrupt and inept Mexican government, relegating their forces to the Baja peninsula and to the arms of their cruel allies in Costa Rica and beyond

Lets keep this going folks! @Northerner yer next bud

Patine, you can use your mouse which can be cumbersome to drag units to a tile, careful with the path-finding. If you have a keyboard without a NumPad it should have an alternate numpd on the letters part, any little numbers there, if so then normally you hold the function key and hit the number to get same result, again as keys aren't spaced the same it won't be as easy.

We may have lost Northerner, profile says he hasn't been on forum since Dec 22nd...

Should we try and replace Northerner while he is MIA?

Britain and Japan could work as a pair if you're willing to take it on.
But I'm already playing Germany as well as Japan as it is.
