  • Invade Nova Jagalanda with 24 Armies and 5 Fleets

Raise two naval units
Raise three army units
Crush the Revolt that erupted!!

half in Army and Half in Civic!

Oh, good catch Thorvald!

Corrected everything. My players know the rules better than me...

The Republic of Coruscant has dispatched three army units and two naval units to crush the uprising that has sprung up in recent times. The terrorists who staged the uprising shall be punished for treason against the Republic.

Invade this planet with three army units and the two naval units that are created!

Coruscanti Retaliation

Facing a revolt, the Coruscantis seek to make an example of this tiny world, and after a brief orbital bombardment, send three armies in.

Killed on the first strike, the rebels fold.

Nova Jagalandian War

Slowly but surely, the Kauravans are gaining the numerical advantage despite lower quality forces and massive losses.

In an all or nothing strike, the Kauravans send 24 of their 28 units into Nova Jagaland, guarded by 5 space carriers!

The NJA assemble 5 carriers of their own. That will be enough to hold off the Kauravans for another turn so long as one stands.

1 4+1

Kaurava's lower quality military costs them 3 of their fleets, but they take 2 NJA fleets with them.

The NJA deliberates, and decides they have nothing to lose and plenty to gain by risking two ships in an assault against the Kauravans.

2 2
5 3

Kaurava loses no less than twenty-four armies to the NJA, as a result of inferior army training. With a massive income 3.6x what NJA makes, however, Kaurava stands to recover.

As such, the NJA orders its free navy to transport all NJA forces to Kaurava for a party on the house.

All four NJA units are loaded in an all or nothing assault. However, Kaurava is not doomed - they have orbital guns to protect their otherwise-defenseless planets.

4+1 5+1

The orbital guns reign supreme, ripping the NJA fleet apart. Nova Jagaland is left with no navy and no army whatsoever. At least the Kauravans have something to fall back on!

The war so far has been bloody and fruitless, with hundreds of thousands dying on both sides, but especially so on the Kauravan side. The human wave tactics, however, are working, if painfully - Kaurava has superior finances, and given time, will erase NJA from the map. But will it be worth it?

For example, nothing could stop say, Mathalis from swooping in and claiming the system... or rather, transforming it into a vassal.

Oscurite Debacle

Sombra seems to be victorious, and now, what could be the last battles of the war are about to begin!

Oscura builds a fleet. Sombra builds an army and a fleet.

5 2

Oscura is torn to shreds!

A defenseless zone is picked up by Sombra, leaving only the home world.

The other fleet, meanwhile, takes on Oscura's defensive guns.

1 2

Alas, the fleet is destroyed!

Loana does, however, give the Sombrans another fleet via gold.

3 1+1

Oscura's guns are destroyed!

The Oscurans valiantly make an effort to defend against the Sombra-Loana Cartel.

5 1

They are ruthlessly cut down by the fine weapons that Loana has given Sombra, however.

The gold Sombra seizes is sent to Loana. Meanwhile, two planets are given to the Loanian Empire.

Sombra's war has ended on a profitable note - it has gone from 4 planets to 5, a 25% increase. However, it now has the shadow of its backer, Loana, looming overhead... Loana having gained 3 zones from its backing, and now having a great deal of influence over the Oscura - now renamed Sombra - system!

The Oscuran War concludes as the Kauravan War winds down... but is this the end to war in the Galaxy, or is it just an appetiser?

Oh, of course it was just an appetiser. You wanted less NPCs? I'll give you less NPCs! Quality over quantity, baby~

Boreallis

Boreallis, the lone NPC of Boreallum, has been slowly building up its treasury and territory through peaceful means as Kaurava and the NJA destroy eachother's forces over and over.

Link to video.

However... the time has come for Boreallis to flex its muscle.

Boreallis has drummed up a declaration of war in response to Kaurava's aggressive behavior. However, it is not against the mighty Kauravan Empire, but the victims of said aggression. Picked clean of any armed forces, Boreallis is ready to vastly expand its holdings at its neighbors' expense. It thanks Kaurava for doing the dirty work!

Ships are first sent in to destroy the last of Nova Jagaland's navy; two fleets remain immobile due to their vicious assault on Kaurava's forces.

7 units are deployed to Nova Jagalanda. Without fleets, these zones, not having any orbital guns, fall with minor resistance.

Setting up shop and with 45 Au remaining, units are ordered to remain static. The purchase of Civics 1 erases unrest in the NJA region, thus leaving Boreallis as the largest minor NPC at 19 provinces.

4 navies are raised, all dispatched to Kaurava's home system. They just sit there, remaining docile. They do, however, serve as a reminder that Kaurava's bargaining position is very weak... should Kaurava declare war on Boreallis, it will have to clear its home system first before it can move onto juicier targets!

Boreallis now mans the largest navy in the galaxy, at 7 fleets!

(Now THIS will make this war the most interesting one by far...)

Kidna'i Empire

The Nerjik has spoken. It has met two machine empires so far. On one hand, there are the Autobots, who wage skirmishes against the despotic Decepticons, but are kind and friendly. Given their non-organic status, there is 0% conflict of interest between the two races.

A contrast is the Arare. An army of machines led by a close-knit group of androids, they have the desire to exterminate all organic life, that or convert it into machinery.

As such, the Kidna'i have decided to do the galaxy a collective favor by exterminating this hostile race. They cannot be absorbed, so their lands shall be purged and their tiny galaxy repopulated by loyal Kidna'i citizenry.

8 Arare fleets assemble. The Kidna'i, meanwhile, make sure to close the military gap via some upgrades.

With 10 Kidna'i fleets assembled, the Nerjik orders that all units stay put. "The cold ones shall attack first."

The machines strike, but lose 5 of 8 ships! Fortunately, they were savvy enough to not use any units, and as such, their home defense stays strong.

Alas, the Kidna'i are unable to repel the Arare fleet. However, the Arare now see themselves in a dire situation - a meager 10 gpt economy against a 67 gpt one.

Treaty of Corneria

Representatives from Dream Land, the Mobian Imperium, and the Kidna'i have established a trilateral trade agreement, enriching all three nations immensely. It is believe this agreement will trigger similar agreements elsewhere; in the meantime, nations along the route are expected to enrich themselves from taxes on goods and general stimulation of economic activity.

The Autobots have been invited to join the trade group.

Andross Attacks

Just weeks after the Treaty of Corneria, rogue scientist Andross has revealed himself as the head of Venom. With his puppets dissolved, he has declared himself Emperor of the entire Lylat System, and now seeks to conquer the Cornerians. Stock prices have plummeted in the Bank of Lylat with its namesake system's civil war.

Corneria and Venom's shares have been suspended. However, the Necrons' vetoing of a motion to respond to Corneria's call for aid has resulted in the shares being liquidated and the wealth being given to both rightful holders.

Corneria shall stand alone!

:agree:

Just who is supposed to be playing this game, Tani?

why would i want to swoop in and conquer the system? it will drag on to a messy messy affair.

Towards the end of Mobius, it looked more and more like Tanny was playing by himself. And most of the wars were NPCs fighting each other.

Agreed. Most agreed. I just might create my own Imperium Universalis using a galactic map from Warhammer 40k.

Hey, if anyone's doing WH40K, it's Farsight.

Funny; I was going to make an Age of Strife-themed IOT, but I was going to release it on Heresy Online. Anyways, I'll be too busy to be hosting an IOT this month, so you could do it, CivGeneral.

Am i the only one who didnt have an issue with this?
About the NPCs or a 40k IOT?

Um... Um... Um...

The latter.
