Improvement File Size Reduction

This mod reduces the size of improvement(farms, mines, etc) files to about 9kb each. This makes the game load improvements quicker and seeing how a large nation can have a very large number of improvements this can reduce lag. Though lag is only reduced a small amount, I figured every little bit counts. The actual graphics in game still look the same, it's just the file size that has changed.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS MAY NOT BE PERFECT AND HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED ON MY COMPUTER. Please tell me if anything goes wrong in your game.
Just place the civ5mod file into your mods folder, if that doesn't work than unzip the 7zip file and place it into the mods folder.

Farms have been taken out because they cause crashes when removing them from a tile, but I think it's still happening. I'm working as quickly as possible to fix it. For now do this:
1)Visit this site- http://wiki.2kgames.com/civ5/index.php/Nexus_Tool -follow steps 1-4

2)Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\Resource (may be different for your computer)

3)Backup either the DX9 file, OR backup the DDS files that have the same names as the DDS files in my mod.

4)Drag and drop the DDS files from my mod into the DX9 folder, overwrite the exisiting files.

I want to thank Nutty for showing me the programs to use, it would have taken forever without them. I do plan on reducing file sizes for units and terrain.

You can try with a savegame but back it up first, I haven't tried loading a game with it yet, but since it's a mod I don't think it will.

Yes you can overwrite the core files; go to http://wiki.2kgames.com/civ5/index.php/Nexus_Tool and follow only steps 1-4. Then drop all the files from Improvement DDS(in my mod) into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\Resource\DX9 directory and overwrite the files(might be different for your computer). I would back up the DX9 file before overwriting.

think this mod is causing game to crash when i try to build something over an already built farm. it happened twice once with building polder over a farm on flood plains and another time trying to build a mine over a captured cities farm on a hill. i have g&k

Yes, I am now aware of this bug, it would appear to happen when removing an improvement from a tile. I'm going to look into how to fix this but see the first post on how to incorporate the art files into the main directory. As a mod it seems to have issues but when replacing the main files it would appear to work fine.

Isn't that a bug from civ5 without mods ?

It is still alive, and I have made reduced unit graphics. It's all on the workshop I just haven't put them on Civfanatics yet.
