OK, bear with me here...
Many moons ago I was given a pirate version of Civ3. I liked the game, so naturally I then went and paid for a proper version through an online shop, where I was able to download the full version of Civ3. I have since purchased the Conquests X-pack, from a shop, so have the CD for that one...
Now, here's my problem - I was recently forced to perform a total HD format due to a virus epidemic that my copmuter was afflicted with. I backed up everything that I needed onto CD and wiped the HD...
Now that I've reinstalled everything, I can't find any record of where I downloaded Civ3 from, and thus can't contact them for a duplicate version. Therefore, as I have already paid for a version of the game, I decided that it didn't matter really whether I used the version that I paid for or the (pirate) version I was given?
My problem now is that the version of Civ3 that I have doesn't have the .mp3 files included with it, and when I install the Conquests pack, it crashes because they are missing...
What I am seeking is either someway that I can re-download them, or alternatively a list of the music files so that I can atleast make the game think they are there?
I know the rules on piracy here, but stress the point that I HAVE already paid for the game, both the original and the X-pack, and it's not my fault that I was the victim of a lowlife virus
Neither is it my fault that I can't remember where I bought the game as it was years ago!
Please take pitty on my situation and help!
