In my high school days, a long, long time ago, a group to which I belonged, I guess we were nerds, we wore pocket protectors in our shirt breast pockets and on our belts, slide rules (I said this was a long time ago) got interested by the REDOX (reduction/oxdation) equasions. And decided, as the aimless characters that we were that we would establish the kingdom of RE. to use REwords.

Economic activity revolved around exports and imports that were transhipped over the REdocks. (duh) The very first REword.

I invented the REpublican party, which consisted of tavern owners (publicans, do I have to explain all the jokes?). Electrical circuit safety devices wer REfuses. If there was a fork in the road, you needed to REturn.

I think that it would be in the best interests of everyone's sanity not to reply to this thread, but if you do, you should have a RE word and an explanation or definition. It would be nice, or at least on topic, if there were some humorous element involved.

Just like a heart, this thread is REpulsing. :)

Let's use a secret REagent.

I think this may have been better: I hit my head and got amnesia. Now I tell people don't REmind me.

Simply because "dont remind me" and "don't mind me" are both used quite often

REally what's the point of this thread?

reNO REAL POINT, just mind tricks, looking for words that pop up if you take out the RE in other words. Kind of like punning.

like: Strippers support REpeal. (peal off their clothing)

REstaurant special" REveal cuttlet.

REstaurant isn't really a RE word, as struant isn't a word. Could work up a scenario involving Truant and say the s is silent) Re veal is a good RE word, reveal is a word and so is veal. The ones where the suffix (RE is the Prefix) has the same meaning are not usually as good. RE lease is good, release means let go, lease means a contract to rent something. REinvent is not to the same standard, invent and reinvent don't give that flash of changed meaning. REno and no are good, there is the city name (or Custer's subordinate for which the city is named) but the meaning of no isn't included in reno.

If it doesn't make sense to you, perhaps you shouldn't try to understand it. If it isnt funny to you, I can't make it funny by expaining it.

RE words are an acquired taste, you can see them everywhere, if your mind has the right warp.

The leader of the REpublic of RE is the REduce (some italian influence, probably). His doctors carefully check his REpulse. When it is cold, they put more REpeat on the fire. Adult entertainers in RE do RElapse dances. REvice is a problem. ONe of Ireland's famous authors moved (RElocated?) to RE, REjoyce.

As I come up with more of these, you will see them here, first, and probably nowhere else.
