Link to the roadmap? (feeling lazy)
One of the best things about the two new games that have been released: Old World and Humankind, is that both are from development teams/groups that are dedicated to communicating with the game communities and continuing to work to make the released games better and address problems that (inevitably) accompany a new release. The contrast with Civ is deafening.
I like the way Amplitude are actively seeking feedback but I've stopped reading people's reviews and "long list of suggestions" threads. It seems like a side effect of the collaborative approach is that a lot of people are projecting their own ideas about what the game "should be" rather than accepting it as it is and suggesting ways it can be a better version of what it already is rather than a totally different game.
Yep , gaming without internet was quite the challenge but part of the charm as well. Although the civics triggering game is a bit ...much, maybe I'm spoiled but at this point, it would take more investment than I already put in (and I do put in quite the investment considering my sleep time got reduced the past two weeks) and at this moment some civics triggers do feel random (while I know it isn't ). And they are quite a lot of 'top quadrant' civics I've never seen and probably won't ever. This makes me a little bit sad ctoiAlso the complaints about the systems being opaque makes me feel very old, "in my day" we got a buggy impenetrable game on disk, with no patches, forums, or wiki, and just had to figure it out. It's nice to have some mystery like how to trigger civics.

Oh absolutely! Really makes civics feel like an inconsequential part of the game. I’d argue it very well might be but others love spending their influence on them, so maybe not. If they all had the significance of the food or use-gold-as-influence, I’d be more interested. But most do so little, especially the commons quarters ones. Pretending there was some deep reflection on whether to include slavery in the game “because it’s historical” falls flat when it doesn’t do anything one way or another.
Once I realized you can get events that prompt you to choose a civic for free, I stopped prioritizing them for Inf spending.
Only when I have an Inf surplus and no foreseeable expenditures will I pick up any civics (unless they have a particularly powerful bonus).
