Consider: an Incan mountain with 3 terrace farms around it produces 3 food and 8 production. Granted, the tile has to be worked, unlike the Hansas so we'll call it a 9-yield tile (of the best yields: food and production).

This makes Incan production early game INSANE. You can potentially get a tile like that BEFORE Craftsmen (first builder drops 3 terrace farms around a mountain tile. Buy the mountain tile with some gold).

It's like having a Hansa early in the Ancient Era.

Also, consider the Incan UU: it shoots twice. It can potentially go up to 60 strength. It's mobile and fast. It upgrades from cheap scouts. It can benefit from the 100% recon experience card. IT SHOWS UP AT FREAKING MACHINERY.

It's like a mobile double shot Hwacha, except it comes at Machinery. Think on that.

Inca combines German production bonuses with a UU stronger than Korea's, and it gets BOTH much earlier. If that's not OP I don't know what is.

8 production? How do you work that out? My impression was that incan mountains give 2 production. And they give +1 food for each terrace farm. I don't think it's +2 production per terrace, or am I wrong htere?

Goddamn it. Depends on how you read it.

The Incas' civilization ability is Mit'a, which enables their citizens to work Mountain tiles (each of which provides +2 Production, and +1 Food for every adjacent Terrace Farm). Their unique unit is the Warak'aq (which replaces the Skirmisher), and their unique tile improvement is the Terrace Farm.

[Now that I look at it, you could be right. Damn. Well, they still have a good UI and a strong UU].

Looks like bad grammar. Has to be crappy grammar, otherwise, those mountains look waaaay too OP.

Yes, but it's confusing as hell.

Well, they still get a 60 strength double shot cheap Machinery UU and their UI is amazing.

They're kinda like the Cree, but with an OP UU.

On the other hand, now that 'm looking at it closely, a terrace farm on a plains hill next to 2 mountains produces 4 food and 2 production. That's a 6-yield tile that you can get before Craftsmen. Later, with aqueducts, they DO turn into Hansa equivalents.

Terrace farms also produce housing, which means the Incans can more easily take advantage of their food bonus than the Malians. Incan economy is INSANE (even without the 8 production mountain tiles) as all of these massive massive bonuses show up immediately.

Have a range of 1. Just saying.

But with 3 moves and can move through forests or hills without penalty.

Also, SHOOTS TWICE. Add in a GG and it has 4 moves and again, SHOOTS TWICE.

5 of them around a city can take down its defenses in 1 turn without retaliation.

Inca are definitely a civ I can't wait to play, since I'm a sucker for high-yield tile improvements. My only flaw with them is trying to optimize those mountain terrace farms vs. prime campus spots (and also trying to figure out what alignment of mountains and terrace farms is actually optimal, since they all depend on each other and adjacency).

Do you even need campuses as Incan? With your high pop you'll be getting a lot of science naturally, and the only tech you really need to win the game is Machinery, which isn't hard to get.

Honestly, a lot of Deity warmonger players are gonna try Canada, too, 'cuz the only threat the AI gives is a surprise war early on.
