Is there any specific guide/way to do an optimal quechua rush? Like, build order, the size you should grow your city before stopping growth for hammers, the number of Quechuas you should have attacking the first city, etc.

I have the basics down (im hoping at least!), like getting 1 quechua in 3-4 turns, producing nothing but quechuas, fixing my economy from pottery, but as i move up in difficulty i want to optimize the rush

I tried looking around, but i couldn't find any guide that was a general inca rush guide on not just diety.
I've been a lurker for a few weeks, started playing this game 'seriously' since around a month ago and ive gotten up to monarch, and im just about to move to emperor.

The only advice I could give would be to not bother if your target is settling on hills. I play on maps with lots of hills, and I've all but given up on Quecha rushing.

I'm just a Monarch-level player, so if anyone with more experience feels differently, I'm all ears.

Rush EARLY because once the ai gets axes your rush is over...pillaging his copper/iron/horses can prolong your rush for a while if you can find all his resources and pillage them in time.

The beauty of quechas is that they are much cheaper than the units they take out (archers) so you should be able to pump them out faster than the ai can handle. Depending on map size & game speed about 2-4 cities with decent production very early should be enough. Two quechas for every archer works ok for me but I try to send 3/archer if possible. After all, you want enough of them to survive to garrison the cities you capture.

Settle on something that gives you a 2-3 hammer capital, and work a 3 hammer tile. Produce QQs, attack with 8 of them or so. Take cities.

The most optimal strategy is let Zx Zero Zx under control of your incan Quechuas.

thanks for the advice everyone!

and one more question, should i keep my city at size 1, grow to size 2, or 3+?

For some unconventional fun. move your settler towards the AI, settle just outside their capital on a plains hill, work a forest plains to get 4 quechas and then take over their capital and worker.

your cities will grow as you produce Quechuas. I would not advise to build a second city before a rush, it's better to surprise the AI as early as possible, to minimize the lost time in expansion and built improvements. The Quechuas don't have a huge window of usefulness, so it's best to plan for their obsolescence. You'll have plenty of work to do expanding twice as fast after the war.
