Industrious and Commercial Traits

OK - So easy question that I can't easy find the answer to.

For Conquest

What does the bonus for the Industrial trait (does it get a bonus commerce for the center tile per base)?

What does the Commercial trait get? Is it really that effective with lowering corruption or is it just a drop in the bucket?

Commercial gets an extra commerce in city centres, yes, so it's worthwhile to get your towns up to cities when you're commercial. And there's less curruption, but I wouldn't be able to quantify this.
Industrial only gets extra shields in metropole centres, not yet in cities, I believe. I once read Industrious generates less waste, but this is not something I'm sure about. The best bit about Industrious is the faster workers, but personally I would rate Commercial higher than Industrious.
Sorry to be a bit vague. Even fairly experienced players don't seem to be very sure on the details of Industrious and Commercial.
 
I believe that the commercial trait reduces corruption a bit.Pretty handy with a massive empire. Commercial is in many ways the opposite of the expantionist trait. It's not all that useful in the early eras, but it packs a pretty big punch come the industrial age.
 
Industrious gets the faster workers and +1 shield in metros (no effect on towns or cities). It has no effect on commerce or waste.

Commercial gets +2 commerce in cities and +3 commerce in metros (relative to a non-commercial tribe). Corruption and waste are reduced empire-wide. The amount of the reduction depends some on the level you're playing at - it affects rank corruption (which is more severe on higher levels) but not distance corruption (which is the same regardless of level). I think of it as roughly 1/2 a courthouse per city.
 
Hmm, what I am seeing with Industrious is that Cities (7-12) get:
2 shields in cities on no-shield terrain (flood plains, grassland, tundra etc) and
3 shields on one-shield terrain (bonus grassland, plains, desert, hills etc).

Cities of non-industrious civs only get:
1 shields on no-shield terrain and
2 shields on one-shield terrain.

Metros (13+) of industrious civs get:
3 shields on no-shield terrain and
4 shields on one-shield terrain.

Metros of non-industrious civs only get:
2 shields on no-shield terrain and
3 shields on one-shield terrain.

--> Industrious gets an additionl shield in the center tile of Cities and Metros. At least in Vanilla 1.29b2
 
This must mean Industrious has been clipped in more than one way!
Lazarus319 was referring to Conquests, so wouldn't get those Vanilla bonuses for Industrious.
 
Interesting - PTW actually works the same as conquests, so I guess they clipped industrious a little bit between vanilla and PTW, and then hit it again for conquests.
 
According to the information I have you get +1 shield at size 7-12 for all civs, but you might not notice this if the terrain you settled on had no shields of its own as you get a free shield in this case, which you promptly lose when you grow. When you get to size 13+ non industrial civs get an extra +1 shield (for a minimum of 2) and industrial civs get +2 shields (for a minimum of 3).

For commerce, non-commercial civs get +1 commerce at size 7 and commercial civs get +3 and at size 13+ an extra bonus of +1 for non commercial civs and +2 for commercial (note that your capital will have a minimum of 4 commerce).

All numbers are subject to the despot penalty.

These numbers are from a file downloaded from this site but alas I can't remember who did all the figuring (it wasn't me). I believe this is correct for conquests.
 
Commercial also raises the OCN by 25%.

So that's why India tends to have more productive cities. In a previous game as India, I had to redefine where to stop building Courthouses and start specialist farms.
 
Some claim the corruption reduction with commerical isn't that worth it, and I'm in agreement. I personally find infustuctre very improtant, so I prefer industrious (just another thing i love about Carthage, best of both worlds, Seafaring and Industious)
