"Dr. Sikong, Clinical Lot #17, Client Imago Industries. Initial testing is going well, we have been utilizing the changes available from the new stem cell program to introduce these much more complex implants. It is possible for us to completely change the structure of a gene on a massive scale using these stem cells... that is our purpose here. Dr. Rosenbaum, she has been invaluable in establishing the use of these cells - which she calls Polytypes, for their multiple uses - and their manufacture. We have had some trouble procuring Polytypes en masse, but so far we have only required a few test subjects. Lot #17 is promising, because it helps breach new ground - theoretically, it will enhance the subject's metabolism and make his or her body capable of rapid regeneraton... in effect, they would become invulnerable. So far small cuts and bruises can be regenerated in smaller animals, and human testing is about to go underway. If only we didn't have to start with animals! I can see no reason why this won't work; and there will be quite the market for a man you cannot kill."
"Dr. Sikong, Clinical Lot #17, Client Imago Industries. Lot #17 discontinued and scrapped. We should have understood the potential dangers of the enhanced metabolism... minor damage was regenerated but anything like a mere bullet or broken bone would cause the entire body to seize up and go into cardiac arrest. It is a minor setback but I am not looking forward to writing notifications to the deceased's relatives for the rest of the evening! I'm going home early, maybe Rosenbaum can write them this time."
"Dr. Sikong, Clinical Lot #20, Client Imago Industries. Good news for Lot #20, it is our first joint experiment with Dr. Balthasar. I can only barely trust that Spanish scrub, but he is probably the best electrical engineer of our generation. I have introduced to the subject Lot #20, an interesting Nucleoid that reduces the body's response to foreign invasion with electrical currents that numb the immune system and allow the body greater electrical conductivity. This is a great improvement over Lot #8 which did the same but reduced the life expectancy of the subject to little over an hour. After Lot #20 has been introduced, in a sterile environment, Balthasar began surgery. It was quite nerve-wracking but he announced success after eight hours in the operating room. We quickly took the subject to the testing room, after a short acclimation period, and ran an IQ test... the results were phenomenal. Before he scored an average 108, now he scores 189 on average. Proudly, Balthasar announced him to be Subject Alpha - the first artificial intelligence successfully joined with a human mind. We need new nomenclature to refer to such beings, but the outlook is promising. Unfortunately, that glory-hog is getting all the credit... nobody listen to Sikong, even though without Lot #20 his brain would have been fried. Still, it was a successful run."
