Infantry in a Fortress = Offlimits(?)

So, at least across a river, on flatland a 4/4 medieval infantry will not attack a 4/4 rifleman with a cannon in a fortress:

So, they will attack a rifle and a cannon in a fortress if not across a river with a 4 attack unit. They will also attack a rifle and a cannon in a barricade, so I have no idea why they didn't attack in the above save.

Yes, that combination is not going to get attacked. But it has to be a veteran.

I have noticed that an elite guerilla will atack a veteran infantry with artillary in a fortress.

So it's just that the AI won't attack wherever it doesn't stand much of a chance of winning.
