eyrei, if we negiotiate for peace, Greece will throw in 912g as well.
With peace negotiations, another scenario will have Greece giving us Steam Power and 97gpt(no lump sum) for the same deal.
One last thing....I believe this is a deal for Gems, not Ivory.

You may want to consider a poll between more gold and getting Steam Power. I believe we should rake in the gold.

Jargon interpretaton needed. "Peace" with who? We aren't at war with Greece, are we?
Query for Trade: what are our current prospects for a cheaper trade for Steam Power?
Overall, having Persian ironclads steaming up and down the coast shooting up the road network is simply embarrassing. Plus, it scares the fish.

Since our peace treaty with Greece has lasted for over 20 turns, we are able to put a peace treaty back on the table in negotiations. Most of the time, it works out in our favor as evidenced above.
The Steam Power trade I mentioned seems to be the only way we could get our hands on it right now, and that is only because of the peace renegotiation. But keep in mind that if we take the gold and set our science to 100%, we could acquire Medicine and use that tech to trade for Steam Power and possibly Industrialization.
This is a tough one, because I want us to have Ironclads soon as well.

Thanks, Donovan. I was actually about to fire up the save to check on that very thing, figuring we might get a little more gold out of it. I need to post another info poll regarding which people want more, steam power or 109 gpt and 912 gold.
