Ingame Editor

Thanks!

@benjdm
I suggest you rather stick with the steam versions. The versions I post here only are betas and, while often mature, they are targeted at users involved or concerned with the IGE development (the ones who test, report, give me feedback, provide suggestions and critics, etc).
If I try the beta version, I will be sure to try and provide you with useful feedback. The only mod I would try and run it alongside is infoaddict.

Any way to add Culture or Faith (if not, will this be added to future updates)?

Many thanks! This is an indispensable tool.

add culture you can you the "Have Fun" mode. that mode still works.
the faith is in the v25.2 beta

Faith editor will be added in v25. Never thought about culture but why not, I will also add it.

DO NOT USE infoaddict! the mod does not work well with infoaddict.
InfoAddict is incompatible with Gods and Kings, not with IGE. ;)

Yep, a few things. ;)
I wasn't even aware of that change while it's actually a full reset of the mods database! As a modder I would have appreciated an email from Firaxis to warn me about that but maybe Gamespy didn't want to do that. Anyway, thank you for reporting the problem, it's thanks to you that I have learned that my mod was no longer available from the mods browser! Fortunately it was only a couple of days since that change.

I agree, it was out of the blue that they made the rather drastic changes. And glad to help! Just glad to be able to use IGE again heh. :crazyeye:

I can't get this mod to work with the Gods and Kings expansion. The first post doesn't really help me. Suggestions?

1. Its a fresh installation. (I had uninstalled Civ V last year).
2. C:\Users\eric\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Ingame Editor (v 22) seems to have the right files, including the Ingame Editor (v 22).modinfo file. I'm using Vista.
3. I've tried deleting the contents of the cache
4. Gods and Kings doesn't seem to let you start a game from the mods menu like I'm used to. I've enabled the mod, and pressed Next. That takes me to a Mods screen that says: "single player, mods in use, InGame Editor (v.22)" that has only a back button.
5. I can't find IGE in the top right corner by the current year and turn labels. I've tried increasing the resolution.
6. If I save a game it shows up in the saved directory, not the moddedsaves directory.
7. I searched the combined manual from http://cdn.steampowered.com/Manuals/8930/Civ_V_Manual_EN_Combined.pdf . Page 194 -196 talks about pressing the single player button on the mods menu. It doesn't exist. It talks about using the online button to browse mods. Its actually called get mods and does nothing.

I suspect that the mod is loaded and enabled but I can't figure out how to tell Gods and Kings that I want to actually use it since the menus don't match what I'm used to or what the manual says.

Thanks. Turns out you click the Single Player text at the top of the popup, which I thought was part of the status information. It doesn't look like a button, is in the wrong place for a button, and you'd expect to also see a multiple player "button" but ....

When I click on IGE I get a popup complaining that there is either a older version of the mod or a problem due to another mod. The only mod I've ever tried to install is the latest version of IGE (v22). Deleting the entire contents of the cache as it suggests and restarting has no effect.

Could the DLC's be the problem? Steam automatically installed them as part of installing Civ V/Gods & Kings.

@erm4gh
If you do have Gods & Kings, you need to use v24 on Steam. The v22 currently on CivFanatics is the latest stable but it doesn't support G&K. I will release v25 today both on Steam and CivFanatics, it will be fully refined while still lacking some additional features for G&K (will be for v26).

Versions 23, 24 and 25 have been released.

Bugfixes
  • Compatibility with Gods & Kings (you can play with or without it).
  • Fixed the infamous accumulation bug (caused weird yields when you were adding a resource or some other things to a tile worked by a city).
  • Fixed the bug introduced in v23 to fix the accumulation bug, that was leaving your cities with one unused citizen.
  • Fixed the bug introduced in v23 to fix the accumulation bug, that prevented the undo feature to work correctly on ownership changes, and a few other side-effects.
  • Fixed the crash that occurred since the latest civ5 patch when you selected barbarians. The barbarians are now selected in safe mode, meaning you won't really "take their seat" and won't be able to open their cities and a few minor things. Blame Firaxis.
  • Fixed the "glance at map" bug that caused the fog to not be correctly restored after you used the "glance at map" feature (probably introduced in last civ5 patch).
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the technology tree to be correctly displayed with Gods & Kings.
  • Removed the religious units from the units panel since we can't make them work properly.
  • Building tooltips now display faith bonuses (G&K).

New features
  • Added a new option to hide resources you didn't discover yet on the overlay.
  • Added a faith editor on the players panel (G&K).
  • Added a culture editor on the players panel.

Next thing on the schedule: updating the city panel for religions.

Love the editor. It has made my playing of civ 5 a joy.

My question is - how do I find the older version of the editor (v.24)? I can't see it anywhere and admittedly must be doing something daft. I keep getting the latest (v.25)

Thanks again for such a nice mod!

ps.
I'm using a Mac w/ Steam if that helps

Thanks for correcting me on it...
adding culture to it makes me wonder why i need the have fun mod working...and funny thing is it is still working with the GnK DLC.

SO I was getting on civ about to use the IGE mod and I go into mods and it said update I click update and the mod disaeppers I click unsubscribe then resubscribe and still nothing help

Time for a beta-version with cool new features: you can now edit a city's religions and the religious units are back on the units panel.

Please crazily test the followers editors and check you do not experience crashes (I don't think they can still happen but I had many of them during development with religions not yet founded; those ones are no more displayed). I would not be able to prevent them anyway, but at least I could add a warning should they still happen.

Regarding the units panel, the creation of inquisitors can silently fail (I will add an error message) if none of your city can buy them, see their tool tips.

Thanks Quiche! This editor is really comprehensive. Do you think it at all possible to make it so that religions can be started through the editor? (For instance, I want to make it so that Islam starts in Arabia, Christianity in Rome, etc.) Currently, this can't be done on the SDK world builder either!
