Hi everyone.
I'm a looooong time lurker here, probably since before v35 at the very-very-very least, probably way before and simply forgot.
I *LOVE* this mod.
No, seriously, I will never understand why Civ6 exists in the first place, instead of hiring YOU guys and expanding Civ into MegaCiv, lol.
Would not deter old-styled players like me who HATE city-plot mechanic since Civ5.
Anyways, on-topic.
I really don't know, what exactly happened, but I suddenly stopped seeing the Inquisitor unit on my list.
Correction: He's unbuildable and requires Inquisitorial, even though my current civic IS that.
And NO, I didn't change out of Inquisitorial (but did change some other civics, and I didn't exactly TRACE which was when) - which means that ACCORDING TO DESCRIPTION, I should still be able to build these guys.
Except I CAN'T now.
What ALSO happened, is that I updated my v40 to the latest SVN, which erased my BUG choices due to replacing the folder, and this MIGHT be the issue.
Except, again, I can't find WHERE that issue lurks.
Help me, please!
Also, why are BUG choices stored IN THE FOLDER - if you KNOW that it will be replaced with each new version?
Either I'm missing something here - or this is a HUGE problem for users like me, who don't bother backing up.
Help, again.
THANKS!!!

Well user settings had to be automatically removed, as it was broken by interface (PPIO) updates - BUG stuff was changed too
User Settings won't be removed for now.

Upload save for this inquisitor problem.

Well, to make it short (yeah, right).
I started a new game and cheated quick techs to Fundamentalism, then founded a religion.
So far, so good - Inquisitor appears like he should.
The problem is I don't quite understand what was the cause in the previous game - so my question still stands:
What COULD it have been there?
Unless the answer is both simple and stupid - the erased BUG options meant automatic No Inquisitions, and thus it didn't matter what I did in-game anyways.
I see no other explanation to that.
I'm planning on starting another ACTUAL (not mock-test) game, so I'll eventually get to a similar situation with techs and civics.
Let's see, whether the problem resurfaces again - or it was simply an unlucky fluke that I got accidentally due to switching.
End of story, thanks for reading.

Enabling/disabling Inquisitors is done on game setup - where you select map and other settings, so BUG settings reset was unrelated to it.

Did you change state religion or removed it from city?

There are some traits in the complex traits stuff that manipulates whether you get or don't get access to inquisitors that become additional arguments on top of what you have in civics. I think there's only the ability to say you should have them though and not a setting to remove it if the civic gives it. So it's possible to get inquisitor access without the right civic that way.

I know.
That's why I'm so confused: I can't think of ANY reason to STOP being able to build them, apart from changing that one civic - which I didn't.
Again, unless the switch between v40 and vSVN somehow turned No Inquisitions INVISIBLY ON.
Somehow, no idea how.
No other ideas even close.
Anyways, I'm planning to waste more time and start yet another game from scratch - and we'll see what happens in middle-game when I get there again.
But it's a huge pity, lol.

Just FYI if it wasn't made clear to you, SVN is our *alpha* build, it will be expected to have bugs and problems now and again. If you want to use a release build that is v40, until we (hopefully) put out v40.1 in a month or so.

Well, news.
I've played enough to unlock Inquisition again.
And it still has issues, as in, working randomly ON and OFF.
I don't really understand it, lol.

Kinda can't.
It actually works correctly NOW, so I guess it was something hidden that stopped applying.
Or maybe it WAS due to me switching between versions during a game, lol.
Update to latest SVN, and upload save.

What's the point, if it WORKS now?
I'm also on latest SVN from like yesterday - did you change anything significant today?
I just checked - there's like 4-5 files changed, so I simply copied them over.
But I don't see the point of testing a save that currently works fine.

Worrying. You shouldn't need to be copying anything manually, you can check here to confirm you are using SVN version correctly: https://github.com/caveman2cosmos/Caveman2Cosmos/wiki/Using-SVN.
Yeah a save that doesn't exhibit the problem won't be much use.
Nah, I have it Exported into another folder, just don't want to deal with so much overwriting for the sake of literally 5 files that I can overwrite manually just as easily.
And yes, I'm fine now, so whatever was happening before is now either gone or hides somewhere.
In case it comes back later, I might do as you ask, lol.

Actually, the problem might be exactly the same like when I cancel a Hero's queue, and he just disappears until next turn (which makes no sense).
This still happens from time to time, and I guess it has to do with updating the city in real time, or something.
So maybe it was something similar here as well, dunno.

Nah, I have it Exported into another folder
Yeah that is not recommended any more, much easier to just put SVN direct in the folder now, as it *only* contains required files. You can move it as it is now, just rename your existing Mods\Caveman2Cosmos to something else, and move the SVN folder there instead. You can then copy your User Settings back from the old version and from then on you don't need to worry about synching or exporting, just SVN update and thats it.

However if you are going to keep synching manually between two locations, make sure to also sync deletes! Leaving removed files can cause problems as well.

Or I could go back to simply playing the SVN folder to begin with.
I guess I wanted to try a "stable release" once more, but now that's moot.

So you got various bugs by using SVN on top of release folder or something like that - never overwrite mod with another version.
