Should they be able to remove all non state religions from rival cities with which you have a open border agreement (and the same state religion) - any views?

Also, does anybody know why the patriach feature was removed (not a criticism just curious)?

Kael thought that the Patriarchs overlapped with the Over/Undercouncils too much.

I personally never really like the mechanic, since it doesn't seem appropriate for most of the religions. I did implement a slightly modified form of it in my modmod through, but only for the Order.

i just won my first religous at deity - i never realised that inquistors could work on rival cities (hence my question) - fantastic tactic....

Good point, at the least the civ in question is going to be annoyed about the intrusion into its affairs, and most of the good and neutral ones are going to be upset about the deaths of its citizens/subjects at the hands of a foreign agent.

Would there be any way to exacerbate it if their State Religion is different from yours? (and just got purged?)
