Installarion Problems

Hi

I just got Civ 4, but the problem starts when I click install. It will work for a few seconds, but then shut down. What makes this odd, is that if I wait at the Language select screen for a while, it will exit. But if I rush through what little I can, It will still exit, after what I believe to be the same period of time.

try starting the installation process by running the setup.exe on the CD/DVD.

I don't recall a problem like you have, but some installation issues were resolved by:
- installing the game in Windows Safe Mode
- copying the CD/DVD to your HDD and installing from there
- clearing the temp directories

Another idea would be to verify that your InstallShield is up-to-date. Don't know how to do that, though.

I have tried running setup.exe, I will try some of the others.

I have a problem when running my computer in Safe Mode, though. When I restart XP just starts up without me getting to pick anything.

Hit F8 quite early during startup the display the menu where you can choose safe mode.
