figured since BAT has the BUG mod in it, it wouldn't be a problem.. but i guess i was wrong.

so how do i make it work?

i dont want to wait till bat 1.2.

When we do a BAT release, we manually merge BUG into BAT. So you can checkout BAT from the SVN, but you'll need to merge in BUG. Really, it's not very hard, but you gotta roll up your sleeves.

  1. Install BAT 1.1.
  2. Unpack the ZIP of BUG 3.6 or grab it from SVN.
  3. Copy all folders in CustomAssets into BAT's Assets folder, overwriting all files.
Oh right, I don't think you need to modify any Python files anymore* to get it to work. Try that and report back please. You cannot use the BUG installer, however.

* Opening up the help file will fail, and the Options screen will say BUG Mod 3.6, but otherwise it should work.

worked like a charm.. thanks!

any way to install it so that its not a mod?

i have some kinda old save games from before i started using BAT that i'd like to continue.. but cant because of it.

No, BAT includes a mod (VD) that requires it to be installed in the Mods folder because it uses modular XML loading. BTS only allows that for mods.

ahh ok.

well i've decided not to use BAT anymore.

i have BUG 3.6 installed in my custom assets folder. added blue marble and the flag mod to my assets as well.. and im golden.

We at the BUG Team realize that you have a choice when installing mods, and we feel that if you just gave it one more chance . . .

Haha, no! Just kidding. :D

I use BUG with Blue Marble myself because I'm always testing new BUG stuff. I do like the extra unit and city graphics in BAT, though. Hopefully BAT 1.2 will be even cooler.
