I just bought an IM 4.0 and it came in the mail today. I was ready to fire up Call of Duty 2 and enjoy the 5th button and the tiltwheel(for FPS "leaning"). Well, COD2 didn't recognize the tilt wheel. And I can't seem to remap it using the Intellipoint software... And I can't seem to find another way to do it, even after exaustive googling for two hours. Do any of you know any free programs or reg-keys or just plain old tricks that I could use to say, map the tiltwheel to two keyboard keys or anything like that? I would *LOVE* to be able to use two-dimensional scrolling in games, as I can think of dozens and dozens of uses for it. I know it seems petty, but the tilt wheel is the reason I upgraded, as the other features are unimportant to me.
If push comes to shove I'll just buy a Logitech G5 finally, but I would like to be able to use the tiltwheel in the meantime between now and whenever the left click sensor dies or when I get the G5, whichever comes first(hint, the left click will die first according to most online reviewers
)
Sorry for the coarse poorly-proofread post, I am just losing my mind with anger here. Why sell a tiltwheel and not let you map it to ANYTHING, why god why?
Oh joy, it appears the left click is ALREADY dieng. Looks like I just bought my first and LAST non logitech mouse. Still, I'd like to get the tiltwheel working while I go back and look at that replacement hotline again.
