I Rebased that fighter to a pair of carriers, both of which had room left. I was undecided about which carrier I wanted to take the fighter, so I canceled out of that selection dialog.

Come next turn, I used it in combat without thinking, and boom - it's left hovering there!

I'm going to guess it just sits there until you come to collect it. This is what happens if you get slaves or great leaders from amphibious attacks and you don't have boat space for them.

It's still there. I can run missions as normal -- including rebasing.

Also got to love being able to set your science rate to 100 in the late game and fund your empire with the AI's money.

its even better when you can be at war with multiple civs, have the slider at 50% and still be making hundreds per turn!

I can do that in Republic doing 4 turn research at 20% science. Gotta love specialist farms!
