Interesting Screenshots

I haven't really investigated the Govenors, but I'm not sure if you can get them to make scientists rather than taxmen.

It was a Chieftain game, and I scored 9450 points (ca 7 points for the future techs IIRC).

I was pleased enough with a million gold, but I do remember a screenshot from one of Moonsinger's games where she had over 3 million.

No, it was one of her HoF games. It was in PTW too, with weaker taxmen.

SirPleb also got over 3 mil, and made an excellent write-up; this was the story that most changed my civ-life.

Napolean: NO BARBS
I beg to differ.
I observed orange barbarians within two locales:
The tip of the Crimean peninsula
The region north of Sweden in the mountains
The barbarians are orange in the Napoleanic conquest.
I wish I could post a screenshot but:
1. My screenie files are .bmp, so they are not compatible with the permitted files,
2. I dispersed the encampments and forgot to save before I dispersed them.
Sorry

Paste them to Paint or some other picture editor and save them as .jpg or .gif.

I think its hardcoded into the game that barbs are always white, so I'm pretty sceptical of this... But I'm always ready to be proven wrong. :)

The barbs in the Napoleonic conquest are light blue. I recently modded the scenario and then played as the Swedish. The mountainous region just north of the Swedish/Danish territorial region spawns many barbarians. The most advanced unit the Nordic civs may create is a unit called Musket Infanty (3.5.1). Oh within that game everyone declared war on me but I never attempted to appear war mongering, for I wasn't. The Danes finally, in July 1813, concluded hostilities with me,and we basically formed a Nordic League.
I observed a Phonecian (?) encampment first, then dispersed it, and then in about November 1812 Marcommani tribes launched a massive assault with 20 Horsemen and 4 Warriors. I created fortressess on vital locales within my nation and fortified cannons and musketmen on them. The Austrians, French and Russians were the three major powers, while Spain, UK and the Ottomans were the secondary powers and Prussia, Portugal, Naples, Denmark, Netherlands and I were hopelessly miniscule and in 1811 Portugal was destroyed by Spain. The entire world was within complete warfare by the 7th turn and Konigsberg was captured and re-captured about 15 times in 10 turns. I never lost a singular city within the entire game. It is interesting to know that the RNG will spawn barbs continuously, even in 1800 AD!

@psweetman1590: Edit the Napoleonic conquest so that you can play as Sweden and you will see blue barbs in the mountains northwest of your nation.

You can change it in the editor. In The Middle Ages and Napoleanic Era conquests, there is a white civ (Abbasids in Middle Ages, Austrians in Napolean), so they had to change the barbs.

I kinda thought the barbs were off here because of the date. Sure, there were barbarians in the real world in the other conquests (depending on your definition of "barbarians" that is), but not this one. And I am certain there aren't any in WWII, or they would show up continuously in China and Australia. And barbs will spawn as long as there is even one tile that is not in the line of sight of any player, meaning they might spawn in a real game in that date if there was a huge mountain/desert area or an unsettled island (unlikely).

I thought that in the Middle Ages the barbs were still white? It is possible to have two civs the same color, you know. And I didn't know there were barbs in Napoleonic Europe at all. Well whaddya know, I'm learnin'! :D

Only if the game loads incorrectly. For example, in the SG "AG3- Ultra Big Map", also known as the longest game ever due to 3 hour interturns, where all 31 civs were in the game, there were 2 dark red civs (Japan and the Byzantines) and 0 green civs, probably becuase the huge number of civs confused the game in color. And earlier in this very thread, you can see the screenshot "The great purple blob of the Iro-ca".

Yup, that's what I was referring to. So it is possible to have two civs in the game with the same color, as I said.

This is a pretty good one I had happen to me in an emperor game as Celts. The AI probably should've just opted for a colliseum if they needed some happiness.

LOL! JS Bachs makes 2 less unhappy citizens on the continent it's on- but it was built on an One-city island and has virtually no efect! Of course, it does give you culture and gold (tourist attraction)...

This is the first time I see a civ late in the game fight barberians. Look at how many units this civ, send it to kill a single barberian.

I couldn't believe it, when I click it. (I swear, I was thinking in getting at war with then, but after seeing this, I had a second tough (I have better units, but not a good number of then, at the island)).
