Interesting Screenshots

CRA, stop posting fake pics or else!

Yeah, that image fails. But I could see Chuck as an awesome military leader.
"I have to get to our military academy. Apparently some fool is lobbying against the usefulness of roundhouse kicks. I'll have to give him some empirical evidence to change his mind."

I'm sure this is nothing unusual, but it made me laugh... Poor Russia. I'm DOMINATING everyone, simply ruling all, and, through a trade, find out that there is still aciv I haven't met. I'm researching electricity, and I meet these guys... (look at the CivAssist window in the top right to see what I can sell them)

Here's their continent :

OMFG! You should put that on the "worst start location" thread.

The most obviously fake thing here is that Chuck thinks you need any military besides him.

LOL! (<<- A real LOL this time! )

Its almost like those old elephant jokes.
Q: how do you know someone is impersonating Chuck Norris?
A: he is requesting back-up.

Well, uh, or something like that.

Not even a

Just some jungle and marsh? Nothing 50+ Workers can't fix. :crazyeye:

Wouldn't staying in despotism give you higher unit support? An you're going to need a LOT of workers to clean up that jungle.

Gems, Dyes and Ivory. Just learn to use galleys and hope for no jungle on the island to the left... Ive seen much worse starting locations.

Since jungle generally occupies a n entire horizontal strip, that Island is probably full of it. Face it, tropics suck, head away from them.

I would build a lot of workers regardless.

And the main thing about switching away from despotism is to end the despotism penalty, where each tile producing more than 2 of something produces one less.

The units support of monarchy is worse than despotism, and the republic commerce bonus generates enough gold to pay for those units even though they cost more upkeep.
And paying a little bit more upkeep for a while is not as bad as switching government twice.

Maybe if I was religious I would consider switching to monarchy first, but that is assuming I actually get to monarchy first, and that is unlikely because I would focus on getting the philosophy bonus. Waiting for monarchy while I have republic would be waiting too long, and waiting for Feudalism takes even longer...

Maybe you guys should look at the bottom-right corner of the screen to see why he won't be in republic anytime soon- it is Turn 23, and he is researching WC. :p

 Wow, that made me laugh, for a moment I thought WC - Water Closet (toilet).
"Scribes, I am sick of our people defiling the land like this, we need to find a new way to dispose of our waste, preferably in designated areas. Research it, now."

Ahh... good stuff... why warrior code though? Map making seems more of an issue.

By the time I took that screenshot I was a complete noob ;) I won that game though! (yes, it was regent lol) The island bottom-left of the peninsula contained rather happier tiles. Also being England and forced to look overseas, I could dominate the world trades :) You get some, you lose some I guess.

1. The AI will protect their cities, never leaving them even for a minute.
2. That area is in fog of war, the hut was probably popped long ago, you just can't see. Trade for a territory map, and you will see.
