Interesting Screenshots

The only way the AI can hide is when they are wandering around with a settler, it gets really annoying when they have it on a boat at the other side of where ever you are.

I HATE when that happens.... but don't they have to settle the city within a certain amount of turns... because whenever that happens, and it is late in the game, i often find they have to settle in another countries territory and they end up declaring war on them....

Then they kill them, not me, and i get angry

If a civ is reduced to a settler on land they will found on the spot in their next turn. A settler on a boat I'm less sure about; if the boat is trapped I'm fairly sure it will just hang about ad infinitum.

I can't say about every instance, but I destroyed Spain once, except for a lone settler on a boat. Made peace, and they stayed fortified on that spot, in the sea, for at least 1500 years, until I got annoyed and killed the ship.

Ready to talk worker efficiency?

How about "Build Road - 0 turns"

I wonder what happens when you press the "build road" button. :crazyeye:

That's easy, you just have one worker already working the tile. If he push the button, the road will just be completed. :p

I've seen that one time, I was only slightly surprised, but didn't think to much about it. When I build things with my workers I usually put them in a stack so it is finished as soon as I push the button. But then it always says 1 turn to complete, instead of 0. Sometimes, it even says one turn but it is not completed as I push the button, so I have to move some more workers to actually complete the thing.

Its not like 0 turns is rare, i often play on a huge wet map and you often get alot of workers like when you want to connect to a resource. Zero turns is very common then. Ive never seen -1 though...

Is it an MP game? - the sequence works differently there so that might be causing the bug.

There was an SOTD where a guy asked a worker to road, and others to chop forest on the same square. The forest chop finished in 5 turns. since it takes 6 turns to road a forest, the road had not yet finished, but it takes 3 turns to road the grass it was now on. Since it had done 5 out of 3 turns, when the guy clicked on him, the diplo advisor said he'd be done in -2 turns.

I don't get how 0 happens like that, though. Usually, it will say one turn, and never 0 turns.

Here's one from my story, and shall be spoilered until I post the chapter it happens in.

Well, if you've read my story, you know what's going on right now. If you haven't, here's the summary in wars: It's me, Byzantines, The now one-island-city Babylon, The Dutch, and Carthage against America. Also, the Maya and Egyptians are fighting Babylon, and the Dutch are fighting Carthage. China, the only other civ, is at peace with everyone.

Well, this is what happened. In 1780 AD, Someone Razed Cuzco, an American city. Now, I can see the rubble, but there appears to be roads under the rubble, as there is roads leading to the rubble. And there's another place on the map with rubble that used to be a Babylonian city that doesn't have roads.

Of course, this could just be a world map display issue.

EDIT: Yes, it was a world map display issue.

i think that if you sent a unit over there, you would see that the roads don't run into the rubble... i think it is the fog of war that makes it seem like that... because if you build a road on top of rubble, it goes away, as far as i know

Having a worker already working the tile will either see that worker finish the road or a message that the road will be finished in so many turns.

I put a couple of workers on a forested tile and accidently hit "build road" on one of the workers and "clear forest" on the others. I guess they were finished at the same time maybe but the road wasn't built yet, so activating one of the other workers to build the road probably caused the illogical message.

LOL. The Russians are building the UN in St. Petersberg, but it won't be finished for 173 turns, plus there's no infrastructure there!

You really should have submitted that to SOTD...

Missionaries are a unit in the AoD Scenario with the enslave ability, so they actually can do that. Explorers can't.
