Interesting Screenshots

It looks like the land mass is sort of centered, but my main continent has been very, very good to me in terms of resources.

I wasn't thinking in terms of chokepoints considering it would be easy to mow through that mercenary, but they do use that city as a canal - which is why I have privateers parked on either side.

Fish in a barrel.

I presume they don't have Coal, judging from the facts that they lack both railroads and ironclads.

And why do you have Privateers when you could have Battleships, Destroyers...

They do have coal, but no iron.

I do have battleships and destroyers, however I am not at war with Carthage and I'm using the privateers to crush their navy.

I'm going to hazard a guess that my rep may be trashed.

Idiots.....

With regards to the AI barricading chokepoints:

In my last game as Spain I was conquering my way through the Chinese continent and came to a point where the continent narrowed to a 1-tile strip for three tiles in a row. The AI had dutifully barricaded each tile, one after another, with an infantry in each fort! My carrier's bombers took each one out over the course of three consecutive turns; this would've been impossible if all three had been stacked in a single fort. Great job, AI! :goodjob:

I'm not at war with the Vikings... yet :satan:

Honestly, you'd think they might've picked a slightly safer spot to land.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen the AI offer an unprompted gift via diplomacy, but in this case it looks like they've decided to give you two free slaves. kthanxbai, Ragnar.

Later, when the leaders are drinking tea:

"Why, thank you, Ragnar, for giving me those slaves. They make my citizens' work in Persepolis so much easier. I only wish we could have avoided the battle- one of my Immortals actually got slightly wounded!"

"No Problem, Xerxes. My next shipment of slaves will be arriving shortly."

Actually he kept landing pairs of archers in awkward spots, the spoilsport. Even forcing me to raze a city at one point! His capital city did though undergo forced, erm, relocation.

I just set up an invasion on Aztec, the last civ in the game. This is Sid so they build and build till they puked. Anyway this is the most units I have seen in any one civ. I ran into sevral with 2200 or so, but they have around 3600 units.
Impressing numbers. But tell me, why are you in Monarchy and not Communism? Perhaps I should know better... but I can't remember having war weariness in Communism. (But then I've not played Civ the last 18 or so months.)

When did you stop talking in Italics?
Why? The quoted portion in your post is in perfect italics.

 Actually it just got too annoying, so I ditched that quirk a few months ago.
Hey Lord Italics, nice to have you back. :) Where have you been? Not seen you since 2006 I belive.
You ditched your trade mark. :p

Here's a couple of pics I have. All of them are from a game played on Quintillus' 31-civ Earth Map, if you're interested in knowing.

Uh... Aren't rivers supposed to allow me to grow to size 7 without an Aqueduct?

Spoiler :

I believe you should not need Aqueduct in cities adjacent to a river? Maybe someone can explain this.

I was using HoF MapFinder and came up with a spotted cow. :p

A screenshot of a screenshot. :crazyeye:
And that's not a cow, it's a sheep! You must have played Railroad Tycoon on that pc lately... :p

Finished the game, won with the Space Race, no other civ ever built a single component. New Beijing built the enitre spaceship, but the 4 turns needed to research all the modern age techs held back the spaceship production. It finally reached 236 spt:

There's no picture in your spoiler, it must have been deleted. I'd love to see it!
But if you have lost it- never mind.

Only Obama has more modern clothes, and he's a guy. ;)
