Interesting Screenshots

First time I've ever seen an AI I'm at war with that's Cautious towards me:

Wow! That's good luck on those lakes there. It looks like that must have saved you a hell lotta time.

Yea, it saved a ton of time. I forget the exact numbers, but it cut about 9 turns off trips around the northern part of the continent, and about 6 turns when traveling around the south.

I decided to colonize Rome and in 3 turns I decimated there army(80 medieval Infantry, 14 Legions, 13 Cavs, 7 Riflemen, & 2 Longbows).

@Gosnork: The Panamerieuez canal! Nice.

In my current game as the Russians I'm planning a 1 turn destruction of Germany with about 300-400 cruise missiles and 20 Modern Armor Armies and 20 or so Modern Armor. The Germans control about 25% of a Large Pangea map, own 30+ cites, and have around 150-200 units.

Yeah but I got the Romans to kill themselves :p I just sat there for 10 minutes and watched. I never conquered anyone with 25% of the land in one turn though.

I don't think I'll have to kill as many troops as you did though, since the Germans are fighting other wars and most of their military is running around instead of guarding the cities. If they happen to make peace before I can build the rest of the CMs I'll force them into a war with someone else.

This probably always happens when an enemy spy mission fails, but I find it funny for my Foreign Advisor to call my archnemesis "a Great Leader".

^I got that message yesterday, this time it was Great Leader Abraham Lincoln of America. Never noticed that before, well spotted!

Here's two screens:

Dunno if this is a AI tactic or just coincidence, but they blockaded my beachhead, cutting off my newly conquered Wines supply:

edit to add, just out of interest...some of the stacks of Japanese Infantry visible contain more units each than my entire army

And here's one of a Sid AI building wealth in 1150 BC:

I don't remember anything about that game, but I know it was never finished, because I've never finished a Sid game (except by being conquered).

Stupid AI...

Actually the bechhead blockade is quite a feat of intelligence for the AI. Talk about finding the most navy inefficient city to do it to though.

Absolutely.

But because it was executed by the AI, I'm convinced that it was sheer random coincidence.

Although, I've had the AI pillage my roads over luxes while at war - which is why I generally build forts and put units on luxes and resources.

That is AI Intellegence- The AI enjoys pillaging, especially tiles with luxury or strategic resources (Including ones they aren't supposed to know the existance of...).

The AI love to build fortresses and barricades at choke points. It's a strategy they rarely fail to use and they're pretty good at putting at least (and lots of times at most) one unit in. The thing is, it's often of more advantage to build a city on them for naval purposes which they did do in this case but then that kind of takes away some of the point in building the barricade. :crazyeye: At least it was on a mountain.

Sometimes the AI actually will barricade chokepoints like that, so long as they're one tile across. Makes sense strategically - forces you to go through or go around by ship. Course a Numidian Mercenary isn't that strong of a guard when they've got Infantry and you're researching Space Flight !

That's a weird map. Large map, continents with 80% water?
