I was thinking, since my portable hard drive is out of room (too many videos) and DVDs are awkward, that an internal backup drive may work.
Anyone else try it? Main thing that it'd be good for is both the speed (even USB 2.0 is slow when copying big files) and always having an up-to-date copy (if it's one of those things that automatically syncs). Obviously not all my folders, mainly my user folder and a couple savegames.
Compared to external drive, any good? Also, if I got an external casing, it could be a multifunction backup drive.
My main HDD is 500 gigs, but only about 160 gigs are used. How big would a good one be? Maybe 100-150, as a lot of those are programs and system files
Also, the thing about externals is that its really, really slow. I have two USB ports. I was thinking, wouldn't it also be neat if there was a cable that hooked up one drive to two ports to speed it up? Or does it already exist? And how would the computer know its one drive and not two? Hmmm.....
To anyone who reads this, sorry for going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on
