welcome to teh forums!
we won't eat you are anything of course :mischief:

Great story.Love the history book style good job.
Can I have an update.

Thanks. Glad you like the story. I have been thinking about doing another update, so it will probably be pretty soon.

Btw, welcome to Civfanatics!

I wish I could do the same, but BNW crashes at certain points. Nothing can fix it.

naw, the crashing isn't that bad, I can do start to finish games. But starting at the information era causes crashing.

Lurker's Comment:
Been lurking and I LOVE this story, although since you are like 5 DLCs and 2 expansions behind, if there were ever a time to start a new, similar Into the Future it'd be now, as Fascist Turkey's occupation of your continent has been defeated, and there is relative peace in the world. So yeah and I would totally read that, but likewise I'll totally read this if it keeps going on. This series is awesome :goodjob:

I do have G&K, but like you said, this game is still on vanilla, and I don't have any of the other DLC except Mongolia.

Anyway, glad you like the story. Hoping to get an update up tomorrow.

I have a game similar to this, it was my first game in vanilla and I was playing as Washington. I came in 3rd place in a time victory while trying to build a spaceship, but I decided to keep going and started taking over the world with stealth bombers, nukes, and giant death robots. It got incredibly laggy though because of the tons of units and cities, and it was too easy because it's on Chieftan, so I stopped playing it. Great story though! I also play SWTOR and agree that it's very fun.

This game is also pretty slow sometimes.

And yeah, SWTOR is great IMO. I might play Civ alot more were it not for SWTOR.

Not much really going on right now, but update coming in a little bit anyway, and this time I'm using Imgur.

The Post-War Period
The United States entered the post-war period with great hopes. The great menace of the western hemisphere had been defeated, and the American military and economy were the strongest in the world. The main immediate goal for the US was to repair and establish firm control over the new territories gained during the war. In just a few short years, the US had repaired the damages done to the former Turkish territories, and the entire nation enjoyed a period of unprecedented prosperity.

Global Events

After and even during the war, however, global politics were in chaos. There were almost no alliances whatsoever. The US had hoped that Songhai and Russia would set aside their differences in order to stand united against any future Turkish aggression. These hopes fell apart, however, when Russia began to denounce Songhai a few years after the war.

There were also troubled relations in the east. The Aztecs remained officially at war with Persia, although they could not attack Persia without coming through American territory. Japan and the Aztecs also remained bitter enemies, and fought another war in which the Aztecs captured some Japanese territory. But even after the war, things remained pretty much the same.

Isolation

For years now, the United States had refused to entangle itself in alliances with major foreign nations. Although the US had sided with Songhai and Russia against the Ottomans, it refused any lasting alliances with the two nations. They were still dictatorships, and the US wanted nothing to do with it.

And now, with the war over, the United States retreated into neutrality. Avoiding most global politics, the US resolved simply to defend it's vast domain of freedom, with the hope of seeing democracy spread across the globe.

Well, it wasn't going to be the end, but that would be a good point to end it I guess.

i guess it's time for Into the Future:Adventures in a Brave New World

assuming you have brave new world, if not then Into the Future:Of Gods and Kings

:D

You shouldn't end it here, you should take it upon yourself to spread democracy across the globe. (By conquering all the communists and dictatorships)

Too bad it's not BNW, or you could attempt to subvert the other nations to Freedom without further open aggression. Even so, it's been a good story so far.

I don't have BNW yet, but I recently saved out the map of this game and put it in world builder. I thought about making a G&K scenario of this game just like it is now and perhaps continuing there. If I ever get BNW, I might could even make a BNW version.

Either way, this probably isn't the end of this story yet.
