War Between The Superpowers
The hatred between the "giants of the east" continued in the late 2100s. And ironically, the Aztecs once again declared war on Japan on July 15th, 2186, exactly twenty-three years after declaring war on Japan the last time.
Battle for Buffalo Creek
With war once again declared, the Aztecs sought to finally capture the former Iriquois city, Buffalo Creek, which was now controlled by Japan. Such a Japanese territory behind the main border with Japan was despicable to the Aztec government, and they wanted to do away with it once-and-for-all. Unfortunately, many of the Iriquois people who still lived there became victims of war.
After about five years of war, the Aztecs, apparently frustrated with their lack of success, fired a nuclear warhead at Buffalo Creek, killing thousands of people and greatly damaging the city.
Although they probably could have taken the city, the Aztecs, for reasons unknown, yet again signed a cease-fire with Japan, leaving Buffalo Creek a nuclear wasteland.
This war was concluded much like the last one, with lots of lives lost and not much gained for either side. Only time would tell if Japan and the Aztecs would ever be able to work out their differences.
