IOT Developmental Thread

No effing way. You already failed once, why should you be trusted again?

Because that there is like half of the active and well-known of the IOT playerbase, and some of the only ones to actually be able to go on the show. I think only... 3 others actually had a mic, or at least showed interest?

I had to effing necro the Podcast thread so that somebody would realise that somebody still thought it was a good idea, and even then no effing body said a thing. I told AA on chat and got nothing. And once I finally decide to come forward myself you're all like "let the grown-ups handle this". I say no. If you want to reboot it, please do. It's what I wanted in the first place.

nobody said you couldn't be apart, and that's what you appear to be making it out to be lol.

You know what I want? A podcast. And how many podcast are there in this forum? None! And how many people do I see willing to get involved? None either! Neither you nor anybody else! So what can I do?

I just want a podcast, man! Gimme what I want, or I will get it myself. :p

...and nobody said you couldn't. Mosher just suggested the actual cast remain the same. At least that's the message I got. I am willing to podcast, it's just it never got off the ground again... so here I am, not doing a podcast. :p

I've been thinking about attempting to restart it for a while, but I don't think IOT is the best fit for a podcast. The community here isn't very large and activity typically occurs in bursts. In addition, it would definitely have to be different from the last attempt; we need something to keep us on track, not necessarily a script, but definitely a general guide of some sort. Editing would be needed, unlike IPC1 where we just posted it as recorded. And again, I don't think IOT is the best place for a podcast.

That being said, I'd [probably] be on board if we decided to do Imperium PodCastium III: The quest for Imperium PodCastium II.

Yeah, the problem of community size and all is a reason why I didn't come out with this before. And I thought of addressing those problems too.

We could have mini podcasts.

Having everyone record is going to be pointless and just waste the editor's time...

I also feel that the original cast should be the one to do it (Me, mech, AA, Tyo, RS)

Eyup.

I'm reasonably sure I said "Sure why not?"

Or wasn't on. Depends on which time you're referring to.

Alternatively: If no one else is stepping forwards to do it, maybe it's because nobody else cares/wants to?

I would do it but the beggining of/end of the year is the worst time for me. And timezones. Yeah.

We're full, so stop being not fun.

As an editor of an actual podcast, I can tell you that, having separate recordings of everypony's parts and then mesh them together is better than just having one Skype or Teamspeak recording to work with. You get a cleaner, better quality product overall.

This is a concern. Perhaps broaden the focus of the podcast to include CFC and the Civ community in general?

We could have mini podcasts.

Yeah, 10-15 minutes episodes. Those can work.

That would be a good idea. It would be better than expanding it too the whole of the CFC community, they have like six podcasts already. But we would need a NESer though.

I hate you for coming up with all the best ideas. :(

I thought, after I went offline "Well if IOT is too small (because it actually is) it may work on NES" But now this is a so much better idea.

On another note, Gamecast? Storycast?

IOT, NES, Stories and Tales, maybe some of Art (eg DYOS) and World History

CivFanatics Art and Forum Games Podcast

We need a sexier name though. Fanaticast? CFC Cast?

Brilliant idea.
