IOT Developmental Thread

"Storycast" is good; it ties together IOT, NES, S&T, and DYOS nicely.
I'm afraid to say, but I'd be very nervous behind a microphone (Despite that I have no problem talking via a multiplayer game).

Yay. Sometimes I have good ideas too. :smug:

I think that's the first avatar I can remember of yours.

No problem, then just don't participate in any of the actual recordings. :p
In all seriousness, It's just a mic, it's not gonna eat you. I know the feel, when Imperium Podcastium E02, but we were too many people to notice. :yup:

U R insane. :crazyeye:

Well, WH makes sense in a way. Isn't it a bit what both NESes and IOTs are about? Besides, that's half-dead.

EDIT: Perhaps each episode could have a section about a bit of generic WH question, a thread in WH opened by the staff about that question and the thread be revisited a week later to take conclusions. Just throwing ideas, you know, brainstorming and all.

I have in idea to tie world history. Start with a Pop-Question, then after some other stuff answer it, and then discuss the thread the question came from.

So right now a good one would be "What season is greatly exaggerated on the eastern front during World War II?" and the answer is "General Winter", and then a quick overview of the Operation Barbarossa thread may commence.

Why not keep it to the forum games? S&T and WH feel... randomly thrown in, honestly.

Lots of people who IOT came from S&T originally. Also, stories are part of NES and IOT as much as dice and spreadsheets are.

And the "Pop Quiz" stuff is cool. Yeah. :)

No one saw a need for IOT mascots but that didn't stop me. :mischief:

I would suggest just an NES/IOT podcast. I think the communities are destined to merge anyway, and the line between them can be very blurry at times. WH and S&T just seems odd.

Though really, I dunno how well a podcast takes off anyway, since there's so few people involved when you add it up, really. We probably have maybe 50 at most between IOTNES, and I assume maybe half would want to listen to the podcast...

Though I'm sure there's a way to make it work!

...more structure is DEFINITELY a must. :p

As for shyness. I was pretty shy when I was invited into my Skype group's call, but I warmed up after a few days. Once you start talking, it's hard to stop. ;)

Some of us actually oppose mascots...

Anyways, back onto the relevant topic: I think most of the people who will want to listen to the podcast, at least in IOT proper, are also the people who will want to be in it (I recall it was popular demand last time). Not that it's necessarily a problem, but it's of note.

We should have two guys who play mainly games from one community and one or two guys who frequently do both. We should totally stick the podcasts on someone already getting money from YouTube's channel.

Oh, and mascots. Someone get around to drawing Squeaky Warnut already.

Traditionally, the NES community used to average 40, but now it is around 60 members with holidays damping things down a notch.

But a few people play both IOTs and NESes.

True. Not THAT much though, and I'd assume much fewer NESers in the IOT pool (I've been lurking since forever, still didn't find a game I'm interested in).

BUMP: Luckymoose is willing to be rep. I might too if I get my mic working.

Also, what do you guys think about guest speakers/interviews? 1 Popquiz a Cast, 1 short interview a cast?

Yea of coursez. Lucky? Really? In something related to IOTs? Inconceivable!

STuff I found cuz boredom.

Moarcat wants moar.

Structure wise, what should we have in and out of Gamercast? We already have a Popquiz and an Interview to mix things up, now what to say every week?

New NESes and IOTs would most likely be in. There won't be too many of them at a time and they should be quite simple to go over: especially if we get a report/ad from the Mod or GM to read.

NES and IOT deaths would also be interesting. However, I suggest that only officially closed NESes and IOTs be commemorated. Some sort of obituary would be nice.

How about Updates? From what I've seen so far IOTs tend to update quicker and more regularly than NESes. Will we just note updates, or do we go over main points? Personally I feel that updates are not important enough to go into detail for. Maybe an "update highlight" for only 1 awesome update from each IOT and NES?

Finally, what kind of community and miscellaneous information should go in? Would the Mod-GM constitution from IOT go in, or the reunion of NESCHAT? Although this will likely be figured out on a week to week/month to month basis, considering just whether to put community stuff in or not should be important for planning the structure of the podcast
