iPod video bug

So I have one of those old 30 GB iPod Video. It had a bug related to albums that I managed to fix (or rather, work around) and it also has, since the time I bought it, a bug with its video functions. Basically, the iPod won't "see" most of the videos that I put in it. iTunes recognise those videos, but only some 10%, apparently chosen randomly, show up in the iPod.

This never bothered me much because I never intended to storage videos in it anyway, but now the fact that I never found a solution after one and a half year is getting on my nerves.

Anyone had or heard of a similar problem? Any patch I can download to fix it? The iTunes/iPod updates did no good.

All help is appreciated! Thanks.

Did you check the video codecs? I think they should be MP4's, which are MPEG video files.

The thing is, some videos of identical formats as others that work, don't.

For example, I recorded some videos with a digital camera. A couple showed up in the iPod, the rest didn't. Presumably those videos have identical codecs and formats.

That's odd. Did you notice any patterns or anything? Maybe the length or size of video?

Have you tried copy & pasting them in Windows, then uploading both (or several!) copies, and seeing if any of them work?
