Is a word which is offensive to some people some of the time...

An old fashioned and I would say misguided Catholic(not in anyway representative of the Catholic faith as I know it) And a raccist, sounds like he wasn't smart enough to determine even the race of those he hates either. Good value for money though, he was offensive but in a way that convinced people of the opposite views.

Ah ok, that was the guy I was thinking about. He was on OT for a few weeks wasn't he ? So questions are :
- How did his OT journey end ?
- How did ElMac read posts from the guy on an other Forum ? Is he a world wide registered poster ? :crazyeye:

Profanity is bullfeathers because words dont hurt. (But Amplitude and frequency can harm)
There is no magic and no magic in curse words.
Only the content of meaning can harm (eg by excluding someone, intriguing) and can be punished (eg lies).

Racism is bullfeathers because there is only one human race. Regional genetic differences are minimalistic and not even barely a phenotype.

A rose would smell as sweet by any other name.

The intent is important, the word is not. Save appropriate academic situations, I never use the aforementioned words, not because of the words themselves, but because I have no cause to.

There exists in me no intent that would require me to use those words to express it.

You're completely entitled to use those words given an appropriate intent, it's just that this intent rarely if ever exists.

The Pope is flying in his private plane to a ceremony with several cardinals, and he is doing a crossword puzzle. He turns to one of the cardinals and asks, "What is a four-letter word for 'woman' ending in U-N-T?"

The cardinal thinks for a moment, and says, "Aunt."

The Pope frowns and says, "Do you have an eraser I can borrow?"
