Is GK buggy for anyone else or is it my computer?

So I have noticed when playing GK the game won't recognize that a unit does not need orders for about 10 seconds. It also take around 10 seconds to change turns. I remember that when I first started playing Civ V the game was almost as slow. Patches did help.

I am running GK with a Dell XPS M1330 with a NVIDEA GeForce 8400 graphics card. I've always been able to run Civ with semi-minimal graphics and textures. Maybe I should turn them down to the lowest? :(

It is a code you need to change from 1 to 0.... Dang forget which one, look in tech on 2 k forums. It should fix this issues toot sweet.

Hmm, I didn't run into that particular bug but I did run into another. The first four resources demanded by my cities as part of the "We Love the King!" demands are essentially... stickied to the side and can't be removed by right clicking.

Alright, I'll definitely check it out. Although I'm not sure what you mean by code. Do you think you could post a link? I'm looking through the 2K forums but I'm not sure what topic I should be looking for :blush:

I don't know if it is that code he meant, but it is a stickied thread in their that is called "having issue ..."

That contains a info about a code change.

The fix requires that you open config.ini and under [CONFIG] change this line:
EnableGameCoreThreading = 1

to this:
EnableGameCoreThreading = 0

You can do the edit by opening config.ini in Notepad. If you have difficulty in finding the proper line of code just hit CTRL + F and enter the word "core" (Sans quotation marks) in the Find what: window. Hit next until the correct line is highlighted. Do the edit, save the file and try the game.

Hope this helps!

The only bug I noticed so far was that nothing was happening when I clicked "Adopt Policy" one time, but I was able to save, close and reopen, and everything else was fine for the rest of the game.

I have encountered a bit of lag in my game so far, and it's been a while since I played Civ V vanilla, but I don't remember encountering that lag.

As always, this community is quite helpful. Thanks for the quick responses. I'm about to try it out now. Could anyone explain why this works?
