.. is the ww2 pacific war scenario on Civ 3 conquests a marked unimprovment on East Wind, Rain from the civ2 expansion pack? especially considering that east wind, rain was a fan made scenario. esat wind rain was good because it had the ussr as a kind of wild card, a powerfull nation which was unaligned at the start who could be drawn in on either side. also esat wind had the proper array of european colonies in the far east, rather than just british and dutch territories, and there was a division between free french and vichy french colonies, the latter siding with japan. also, and most frustratingly, I have yet to destory a single US ship at pearl habour on the conquests one for some reason, I only ever manage to damage ground and air units. my submarines always get sunk by battleships as well. *grumbles*

I don't know exactly what you say your problem is, but if it is that you get too few combats then I would suggest to play as either Commonwealth, China or Japan.

Nah I'm just complaining cos I dont think its as good as the one on civ 2 which was made by a fan. I just though east wind rain was more detailed and accurate.
I'm English and therefore I'm allowed to complain about petty things constantly.

To be honest, fans have a luxury that the developers don't. Time. The developers had only a few months to get all of their scenarios built before the contract ended. A fan can tweak and change a scenario till it shines.
