Is it possible to play CIV IV on 2 computers with one disk?

Not trying to pirate the game or anything, me and my brother want to play just the two of us on LAN.

Just wondering if its possible, if this kind of topic isn't allowed I am sorry.

I don't think you need to have the disc in to actually run the game...

Once the game loads, you can remove the disk and the game will play fine. The disk is only accessed during loading, to make sure that you do own a disk.

3.19 doesn't require a disk in the machine at all.

So, yes.

On vanilla you need to be a bit more creative, can't verify if starting the game then pulling the CD works or not. It might.

It works. I tried it once in vanilla, just to verify that the disk was not needed after the startup.

Thanks a bunch guys, I was worried that trick wouldn't work since the last time I used it was during the Diablo 2 days, haha.

My brother and I play LAN all the time, but we only have the one disc. So you should be able to do it too. Wish we could do it with Civ3.
