Hi!

I was wondering is it possible to play Civ 3 not full screen. If it is, can anyone tell me how please?

Hi roman_crusader, and welcome to CFC!

Civ3 doesn't really have a "windowed" mode. However, if you have a monitor bigger than 1024x768, you can have it play at 1024x768 and leave a bit of room around the edges of the bottom and right side for another program. You still can't move it around or resize it, though.

To do what I wrote about, open your .ini file (C:/Program Files/Infogrames Interactive/Civilization III/ folder, named civilization3.ini) in Notepad, and write the following lines at the end:

KeepRes = 0
Video Mode = 1024

So it's not possible to, say, play Civ3 AND see your MSN at the same time? I tried what you suggested Ginger_Ale, but I just got a centred image and black sides. (I play on a widescreen monitor)

No, it's not really possible. What most of us do is just have both running, and ALT-TAB between them.
