Is there any sites that match you with other players for PBEM?

I used to play PBEM Diplomacy all the time, one of the best games ever. There were several sites that put together games with different sets of rules and movement requirements (press types, 1 move a day or week, etc) and GM's assigned to run the games (make sure no one drops out, etc etc). I think the Diplomatic Pouch was one, its been a few years. You could sign up for a certain type of game, and when it filled with players you'd get to start. There were some that tracked players who finished games etc, so certain games you'd know people were committed (hadn't dropped out of games randomly in the past).

Is there anything like that for PBEM Civ? I just got the PTW expansion, and am dying to get in a dedicated game, and think it would be cool to have some turn structure. Haven't even seen the mechanics of how it works yet.

Well, do you mean the PBEM subforum that we have here? That has a lot of current PBEM games and i'm sure that if you started one, people will join.

Well, you can set your rules and see if people want to join, right here in this very subforum, like WildFire said... ;) Most of us here are fairly new to PBEMs, so there aren't very many specific rules to go about yet. Maybe you can set us a new threshold.

We also have a Diplomacy subforum here with active players. ;) It's somewhere around the Other Games section I think...

Nice sig BTW. :D

Yep, just wade right on in there and start up your own PBEM game. That's what I did - never played any multiplayer game in my life either, so this was a first. The game is up and running with 5 players.

I'm sure if you start one up, there would be lots of takers - I would probably be interested.
