Is there any way to change the music to "Baba Yetu"?

I want the music to be Baba Yetu whenever I play the game. Is there any way to do this???

I hate the music they have for Saladin, who I usually play. It seriously gives me a headache. But Baba Yetu is awesome....sounds so epic.

The sound file for Baba Yetu is in C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Assets\Sounds\Soundtrack and it's called OpeningMenu.mp3. You can also get the composer's version (without the Civ percussion mixed in) HERE, if you want to see which one you prefer.

If you want the track to play over and over while you play the game, copy it to a folder and then inside the game, go to the Options menu, then the Audio tab. Check the Custom Music Folder box, and Browse to the folder where the file is. You can add other .mp3 files into that folder if you get tired of hearing Baba Yetu over and over and over--in a 12 hour game, you'd hear it over 200 times!

If you want epic, download Last of the Mochicans theme or somehing to that nature(more instrumental). It will roll over much nicer !.

Baba yet would drive me crazy the second or third time in row but we are all differant

I went to that file and when I click in soundtracks cant find anything. Even when i click in classical or modern etc, cant find any music or sound. Whats wrong with me? I also like Baba Yetu, i agree with Salah-Al-Din, the song is so epic.

Try searching your hard drive for OpeningMenu.mp3. It's gotta be there somewhere.

same here, but i have to say that i love the warlords main menu music, any idea which language is that?

Ya I think its probably turkish? Arabic? Im not sure the exact, though short of looking it up Im probably close
I know its a song about a guy saying he wants a chick real bad and if he don't get her, he's gunna wreck sh#t up!. In other words its another love song

Bloody good track I agree. Coudn't get much better then that Last of Mohican song I gave as a Instramental example of proper music to play in the course of epic game of Civ. Problem is, its a lot softer in many versions I heard. I dunno where I would find the meaner version Warlords uses on the net, but if I could, Id surly add it to my "Songs inspired by the Civilization Series" Soundtrack ;)

Oh, thanks man....I appreciate your help!!!

By the way, the VERY first thing I did when I got the game was to read your seven part walk through! It was awesome.

I think you have my Beginners' Strategy Guide confused with Sulla's Civilization IV Walkthrough.

Oh sorry....

I read both of them, haha. I first read the walk-through and then read your guide. :) I printed both of them out...like 100 pages of reading before I started the game !

Thanks, both of you.

I think the Terminator soundtrack would be cool for modern era.

Sounds good . Always liked that funky apocalypse feel thats laced on that track. THanks man thats three songs we got know "Songs Inspired From the Game of Civilizatin" Pretty soon we can book the studio!!!!

How many copies think we're set to sell? or better, how much cash can we make after licensing fees? hmmm, Im thinkin minus twenty bucks and the keys to our cribs, no doubt. Hey it was just a thought. I'll still take any more instamental ideas if you got em. The more movie epic the more gold.!

I like listening to The Doors, gives a bit of an "Apocolypse Now" feel.
The Braveheart soundtrack is good too.

Doors? who can blame you. Also reminds me of some CCR tunes. Mybe one or two for mixing it up with Forest Gump goes to war effect.

Braveheart, ya we think alike. Ive already expermiented with similar sounds
how bout Gladiater soundtrack? nah to much enya for my standards(well second thought, she might work well in a building phase, though shes not cut ou for the feel of a good ol Civ3 Conquest bloodbath)

Im thinking we would cue the Napalm song from "Apocolpse Now" during the start of a nuclear rain then fade to 'Terminater' as you survey the destruction left in your wake. Cut!--serious im cutting loose. Thanks for your ideas everyone, but Im way thread jacking here.

Look forward to my "Civ Inspirations" soundtrack included in Civ Chronicles Volume Two! (probably not, thought it would beat the heck out of another DVD of Soreen Johanson)

I think about the only song I'd want to have played is, every time I wipe out an opposing civ, it plays "Another One Bites The Dust." :D

I'm sure there are lots of song that would be appropriate for certain eras, for when war is declared and for when you've completed certain Wonders. Spinal Tap's "Stonehenge" would go great with a certain Wonder in particular. :)
