There are like half-a-dozen threads already wherein cryptofascists post about how Muslims can never be peaceful or democratic and, somehow, never get infracted for it.

Call me crazy for not being too enthused about a thread whose premise is the validation of that lunacy.

The whole point was to showcase that the logic was fallacious, but oh well.

It was a good run, had a few laughs. Reporting the OP to hang 'em high.

So what would you do when you are attacked, just sit there are take it? You do realise that the Crusaders were just trying to take back previous Christian lands before Islam showed up.

Sharia law can be separated from civil society the same way witch-hunting was. The fact that both exist(ed) do not make their respective religions bad in and of themselves.

You do realise that once the "witch trials moved to Boston from Salem, not one person was convicted. To me it seems more like a small town problem than a cultural one. Some of the methods to convict a witch were absolutely awful and not too dissimilar to The Holy Grail.

It's actually kind of funny, I think sharia means legislation. So sharia law means law law. Am I wrong here?

You don't know much about the history of Islam, do you?

Indeed; if we absolutely need to draw naive parallels between the history of Islam and the history of Christianity, the closest equivalent to the Reformation would be... to a zeroth-order approximation... Wahabbism.

Also one should be aware of how the Reformation didn't exactly lead straight to modern tolerance and freedom of religion, that took a few more centuries and involved some bad stuff such as the Thirty Years' War.

Okay, Islam is evil. Now abstracted away the particulars and state the structure of the claim X is Y and then go epistemology on it.
So here it is for the cat on the mat from logical positivism.

The cat is.
The cat is the cat.
The cat is objective.
The cat is physical.
The cat is white.
The cat is cute.
The cat is food.
The cat is sentient.

The list goes on for variants of X is Y, but you have to look for difference in X is Y as to the is.
So between the cat is white and the cat is cute you can ask this: Is it the same is?
Now do that for -
Islam is evil.
Islam is a religion.
Islam is human behavior.
Islam is Truth.
