I know there was alot of discussions over Israel,
since I'm from around I have some pretty good Ideas for a War/Diplomacy scenarios.
I think you will find Israel existance since 1948 very interesting.
this would have to include different variuos AI players, new units and a new set of rules.
I guess having a go with this Idea first:
three scenarios under one base map (middle-east)

1948 - Independence war, striving to survive with very minimal world support, with but simple weapons against 4 well equiped armies. Goal to keep all cities as much as you can until cease fire, losing a city will hurt moral making the game harder, having a few trained millitary units and recieving new un-trained millitary units.

1967 - Six day's war, Preemptive strike against Egypt, Syria and Jordan, Goal to conquer west bank, the golan heights and sinai desert in a race against time. (France/Britain as Israeli supplier, and USSR as Arabs supplier as City-States)
having a very strong airforce (mirage III, phantom FA4), armor ("Merkava" Tank), paratroopers, infantry etc..

1973 - "Yom Kippur" war, being supprised attack on all fronts with heavy forces, (US as Israeli supplier, USSR as Arabs supplier), you will have a set number of turns to prepare a defence line and survive.
enemy has supreme anti-air defences, and the electronics warfare is under development

more general Ideas for development:
Millitary:
support units to fast repair/ammunition for range fire and food supply, convoys for faster unit transfer, adding exhaustion to units that march alot, hunger and lack of ammo.
Domestic:
removing the settler.
Truck for food distribution (in cities and millitary) instead of city growth.
and you can use for growth or other uses.

Hi sbuiumt,

I think this is a great idea and would like to see a scenario series based on the Middle East wars. Some observations based on your description above:

In the 1967 Six Day War Israel did not use Merkava tanks or F4 Phantoms. The Phantom was available in the Yom Kippur War of 1973 IIRC. The Merkava was not in service until the mid 1980s.

Good ideas, I always would like to see historical mods :)

To me though, doing a mod around a war that pretty much lasted 6 days, would be pretty difficult, to stay within the realm of reality, and still be balanced. It would be like making a Gulf War scenario, having Iraq completely surrounded by modern armor, then 4 turns later you lose. Yes they were wars, but really some of these kind of wars, the outcome was blatantly obvious.
