That's odd, 'cause whenever the Civilization account itself posts something, 9/10 comments are along the lines of 'Fix Civ 5, damnit!'.

I actually think the Gumby sketch is much more appropriate for Civfanatics than most other places on the internet, including childrens forums and discussions.

Edit: Oh yeah, in after "********" and "Dumbed down". Haven't checked for "Morons" and "Idiots". I'll still take "noobs" any day of the week though. Bitter man grows bitter on the internet it seems.

The sad part is indeed that they'll probably have great financial success with whatever they're doing over at Facebook (I have no facebook account, so I don't really know how the game plays out, but I bought Civ Rev and found it to be a very good console port. You don't necessarily need the level of complexity of Civ4 to make the gameplay deep.) Probably it is easier to work on a facebook game and not care about the PC anymore in terms of frustration and money.

If I were a developer and had to read this forum I'd just say "Screw you, I'm going to make my money elsewhere " and walk off like Cartman does. And yes, I think they can.

Derrick, I think his point is, we really don't know anything about these people. Some of the posters in here read a tremendous into a guy posting "xbox xbox xbox xbox," call him "********" for it, assume that he's part of that (as people say here) idiotic Civ Rev crowd...

What do we really know about these people? Pretty much nothing. For all we know there are posters there who work on a cure for cancer in their day job and like to play XBOX games in the evening. Piece is kind of just drawing attention to the fact that we should hope others don't judge a bunch of guys and gals who sit around at Civ fanatics arguing about a video game as some of us have chosen to judge these people. The way this thread makes it look people here seem to look at you for an idiot if you like the XBOX and would have the audacity to want Civ on it.

Besides, how many of us know very smart, capable individuals who look like morons on facebook? That site does not present people as they actually are. Heck, I worry about what people would have thought of me from looking at that site a few months ago before I figured out I was being tagged in all sorts of photos I really didn't want up there... And heck, one of my close friends who's a mortgage broker and multiple property owner about to bank his second million routinely looks like a total idiot on his social facebook account.

I agree. Though I was trying to make the point that a lot of people on Facebook want to see more console versions and Firaxis will probably give it to them. I was attempting to protest the game becoming more and more dumbed down for console users.

As to the "perspective": it is odd for someone to say that I should "keep some perspective" when talking about CFC.
