ITT: We rage about Steam

On a more related note. Steam was a bit of a stinker to me as well. After fighting with Steam to pre-order I ended up having to go thru Direct2drive to buy my pre-order and from there I was directed back to Steam for pre-load. Strange. It all worked out in the end, so to speak, but my first intro to Steam was a bit grating. And makes me a bit dubious about tomorrows flood and Steams ability to cope. But I remain hopeful. Have a good night and happy gaming.:)

I don't know what you're doing but my router doesn't block Steam and I've been able to play Steam games on my laptop using campus wifi without issue as well. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've downloaded Steam games to install on my laptop using campus bandwidth for faster speed.

A lot of things don't work on college campus networks by design. I'd imagine those networks are for educational usage and not for student gaming.

Im at University of Bristol in the UK, and our Residence Computer Network or (ResNet) is set up to allow most common videogames to be played on PCs. Its also bloomin fast. Although I have download limits, gaming never exceeds them.
