"I've got the game thread!" - Post only if you got the game and where.

Rather than start another thread, I'm going to ask a question here before anyone gets it (although the former Beta Testers should already know the answer)

Can someone list each civ's trait combo?

Sulla is the C3C beta God! I :worship: for adding the incredible C3C section to his website! :goodjob:

What? No more scouts for the Iroquois? That seems silly, given the native American looks of that unit! :)

I must have details about the Napoleonic Europe scenario. There has not been any official details about it that I know of. I must know. Vive le'Imperur!!!:)

Let's keep this thread to who has the game now. There's a thread like this stickied on Apolyton, so I'm going to sticky this one, too.

Checked in at Gamestop today, they told me that the games were shipping today, in stores tomorrow 11/5. So why does the civ3 site say "in stores Nov. 4th"?

From another thread (so people don't complain in this one):

Hi Colonel,
My apologies if you're frustrated. I can only say to call ahead. As I've already discovered through the preorder program, some stores handle distribution differently than others. However, today is the day that we have launched the product and is the first day that we can expect the product to be in stores. And we did do some fancy manufacturing footwork to avoid delaying the official launch another week... some stores may not have had the ability to make the necessary distribution adjustments.

Best,
Jeff Foley

I checked with several local stores (I'm in the Twin Cities, MN, USA) and got the following responses:

Target (11/5, possibly 11/4 evening delivery), GameStop (11/5 afternoon), CompUSA (11/5 or later), Best Buy (11/6 - they said software comes in on thursdays), Circuit City (whats Civ?!).

Hope that helps.

PS~ Most stores said they thought the manufacturer delayed the shipment. Also, for those of you outside the Twin Cities area - we tend to get games the morning of it's release date. This is the first time I have had to wait past noon for a game - maybe there was some kind of delay...weather?

Quess you won't be going to Circuit City.

Best Buy - Arlington, VA (Pentagon City) no clue as to when it is coming.

Best Buy - Manassas, VA. Guy I talk to said most likely tomorrow (11/5) but hoped it would come in in the late afternoon shipment so he could pick himself a copy, he is off tomorrow. He will call me if it comes in, but I will most likely be on the train home at that time.

edit: Just for Mr. Denver I GOT THE GAME
Just not the expansion pack

wow... twelve posts (13 now) in the "I've got the game!" thread but not a single one says "I've got the game!"

since some of us are apparently used to getting all new releases by noon of release day and if not suspecting there must be weather problems I'd like everyone who cannot find Conquests at their local store to also ask if the following releases for today are in stock: FIFA 2004, Rugby 2004, Trainz 2004, Neverwinter Nights Gold...

maybe this will tell us if there is something "abnormal" about the distribution of Civ3 Conquests...

I saw all those other titles today (can't remember which stores) and a few others were mentioned by the Target employee whom I made dig thru the entire noon shipment in front of me

[q]Quote from Sulla:

All cities under agricultural civs get +1 food in the center tile; that is, they produce 3 food in the center tile rather than 2. This bonus food is canceled out by the tile penalty under despotism EXCEPT when cities are settled next to rivers.[/q]

Then subtract the number you first thought of.... :D Anyone else think this sounds like a passage from a corporate law textbook?

My local EBgames outlet (through whom I pre-ordered the game) says Thursday or Friday. I am not impressed.

Wal-Mart and Target, no idea although the Wal-Mart guy postulated tommorow. Game Stop, Babbages and E.B. all definitively stated tommorow. They all claimed that the website release date was the day they were shipped from the manufacturer not the retail street date. I did not try Best Buy figuring I would just wait till tommorow and get it at the Game Stop near my house.

the " i got it thread" and no ones got it:lol: i went to best buy too--thursday:(

Yep.........I reside in Minnesota, went to best buy after school, not there, then went to Target, not there, went to gamestop, not there, and finally circut city but not there either

Best Buy said thursday, all the other places no1 had a clue

I"M SO SAD! ohh well i don't have school on thursday or fri so i'm camping out and buying the game when best buy opens

but for now my hopes must be satisfied with coninuation of PTW :(

EDIT: Civ 3 Gold was in stores so i dunno Weird HUH! prolly woulda been cheaper to ship them together rather than 2 days apart, OHH WELL!
