i was just wondering if someone could recommend some good j-pop

i recently got Kingdom Hearts II and creamed when i heard Sanctuary

so yeah something along the lines of Utada Hiraku

i dont know if i would like a guy singing though, a females voice is just so much more compelling

No! I hate this music. My brother loves Gackto and Dir En Grey. I hate the crap. It isnt even in English, and the vocals on most of the stuff is horrible, not to mention every other aspect of the music.

No. J-pop is very young looking, very kawai (cute) guys or girls, singing incredibly cheesy inane songs about nothing very much.

A quick search for Gackt turned up this:

J-pop stars have a massive following over here and not just young girls but also nerdy middle-aged men. As with most pop, it's all about image, and very little to do with music.

I suspect the OP is after something a little different.

im obsessed with music, not japanese things
