I kept Chichen Itza and Copan. Those have some nice wonders.

World area 60%
World population 54%

Wow. I can't believe you rolled Chichen Itza and Copan on your turns. That's fantastic. Watch for flips; we won't be able to starve them down before the game ends.

The biggest city in the world right now is the new Mayan capital of Lagash, at 34. The second biggest city has 18 population. If we raze Lagash, we ought to see our population ranking jump noticeably.

Note also that at this point the Greeks have a (very slightly) larger army than the Mayans, so it will probably be easier to grab our last cities from the Blue Team than the Green Team.

We have enough for another careful steal if someone really, really wants to nuke something. No other tech could possibly give us anything we could use fast enough. Can MGLs still rush nukes? If we hit 66% land before 66% people, this may be the most economical way to pare down the total population of our enemies.

Otherwise just start recklessly rushing settlers & tanks in our corrupt mainland towns. Drafting is probably counterproductive at this point, with the Domination goal in sight.

Bwa-ha-ha! Hooray! That was a long four months. I never thought we stood a chance from the moment we made contact with an enemy civ.

I tried to make a Deity game that kept being tough into the modern age. Well, that is what we got.

I also want to thank Mad-Bax and Improviser for playing with us for as long as they could.

:thanx: for playing and doubly so for winning!

Now, to finally patch to v1.22...

YaY! We win. :band: 134 hours makes my longest game as well. All that modern warfare.

Ben, I think your mod succeeded in making the modern age tough; they never slowed down in tech.

The game definitely showed the benefit of keeping a balance between two AI's and keeping them at war. We were lucky to have this occur in the early part of the game before we could affect the outcome, but were able to make a real difference when it appeared that Greece would be able to over-run the Maya. I am guessing it was the constant war between two nearly balanced factions that supressed the spaceship for so long as well as stopping the culture win.

Comparing with JB3, it appears very important in Conquests to not allow a single AI to run away with the game - the AI now fights better and seems much more capable of taking advantage of a lead.

Anyway, congrats to all and thanks for a fun game :)

It was challenging and enjoyable. Hardest civ game I have participated and won.

It was true art of keeping balance between AI. You all are experts of the game. Thanks for sharing the fun.

:band: :D

Interesting game,

I thought we'd lost early on, when we realised we were alone on an island with no coastal (or sea) access to the other landmass(es).

Yet this isolation worked for us in the later game as the AI still seems incapable of mounting a seabourne invasion. Whereas we made fairly light work of establishing a foothold then expanding on their continent.

I found it strange that Greece never got started on their Spaceship. They weren't at war for the last 20 or so turns but still made no progress toward a launch.

We had a slight Production advantage over Maya in the latter stages but my cutting of the Rubber allowed them to switch back to building ToW and I came close to losing Ohrid simply because of the number of Tow they threw at the town :)

My thanks to JB for setting up an interesting game and to all the players for keeping it interesting :)

Ted

Well, I have to say that I am very impressed. An isolated deity start is one of the most difficult, and carving a win out of this game was a great acheivement. Well done guys. :goodjob:

You saved me the trouble of looking for it :)

Cheers.
