Any guesses as to what this wonder is going to be used for? I'd never heard of it before the First Look trailer, so if anybody could shed some insight, that would be great.
Dunno, but it seems we can built this just in desert tiles, don´t it?
It seems so, which is the reason why I doubt it's going to boost desert yields. We already have Petra for that.
The real question is why they called it Jebel Barkal and not Napata. Jebel Barkal is the mountain; Napata is the temple complex.
It was a city, but the wonder is obviously based around the city's temple complex. But you're right, Napata probably is on Nubia's city list; that makes sense. Still not sure the modern Arabic name of the mountain is what I would have gone with, but it works.Napata is probably on the Nubian city list. I thought it was a city based on the small amount of research that I have done.

Not that this stopped them before. Chichen Itza was a Wonder and a Mayan city in Civ V.
Most civs have a dubious city list, sadly. When Machu Picchu was a wonder, there was a "city" called "Machu" on the Incan city-list. Not that I would count Machu Picchu as an actual city though. I hated the Civ5 Inca city-list...Tiwanaku should be a City-State. Having taken a course on the Inca Empire, I know they ignored many important Inca settlement names in that list.
I'd be surprised. Nubia had little in the way of foreign relations beyond Egypt. Religious and/or economic bonuses seem the most likely to me.The First Look video refers to the Wonder as the site of Amanitore's palace, so perhaps it will have some kind of diplomatic benefit?
No, it's not a Natural Wonder. It's a Wonder, like the Pyramids and Petra. What? It's not a natural wonder but you can build it? Can't watch the FL video.
And historically, it was more important to the Egyptians than the Nubians themselves iirc.
