Okay, the short story:
1. I focused mainly on getting our troops home from HC's island to be ready to hit Washington. On the homefront, I focused heavily on infrastructure, grabbing Guilds (from HC) -> Banking (revolt to Merc, it cost an extra turn of anarchy but was worth it I
think) -> Constitution (due next turn, we have 81 beakers left on it...) After that, we can revolt to Representation which will increase our research by 15-20%. We definitely should revolt to Free Speech as well - LP's 10 cottages would each get +2 commerce, which is almost as good as the 28 commerce we get from Bureaucracy (non-river capitals are not good bureaucratic capitals, I've discovered...

) and Sanctuary et al. would also benefit.
2. I settled the settler on HC's lands to grab 2 health resources we needed. However, I'm not sure if it was a good idea. If either Monty or HC settles the land, we'll need to declare on them. I didn't realize this until I had sent most of the troops of the continent, unfortunately. Sheesh, these variants are very difficult. If we have to declare, it almost might be better to let whomever capture the city and then sue for peace.
3. Washington is still getting stronger. He's up at least 6 techs on us now. His GDP is now 410 (!!!!) to our 166 (!!!). Ouch. We must take him down a notch. If we could raze Boston, it would hurt him very badly (he'd lose Great Lighthouse, though that'll obsolete soon, and his primary holy city.) I've never seen a AI anywhere near that GDP in 1825. And he's not in a Golden Age.
On the Great Lighthouse - that's where his strength is coming from. He has 12 coastal cities, so that's probably a third of his commerce. Razing Boston asap is key. He has a hill next to it, so some Guerilla Gren's should be able to whittle his attack for down. On the other hand, it can be reached from his capital, so we need to bring
everything.
4. Most of our army is gathering at Cherokee (our westernmost city) - some troops are still on automove there - if you want you can track 'em down. They'll all arrive in 3-4 turns. Our Galleons are also being sent there in preparation for a strike on Washington.
5. I didn't raise any money for upgrade during my set, because I didn't want to run gold before we had banks in place. We now have a few banks which are helping a lot (along with getting the troops home.) So feel free to grab some gold to upgrade troops (though you might want to get steel first so we can upgrade cats, which are probably most important.)
When I started, Steel was 8 turns to research. After peace & MM it was 5. With Banks & Oxford it's now down to 3, and should drop to 2 when Rep+Free Speech kicks in.
The most important screen:
If we can break Washington, it's a won game. If not, we won't win.
