Sanctuary over happy limit Drama almost done theater easier than coliseum even better with dye. Sapporo done building CH start barracks (everything else too many turns low production Windmill should help)
We now can build the Forbidden Palace and I think Armstrong felt it should go in Marubeni.
Move archer from stack at angle to add happiness there. Watch barb sword at bayview moved axe to intercept. Also army is on it’s way back to friendlier ground and less costly. We didn’t loose any soldiers only 1 archer to a sword. PFFF Archer cheap….

JesusOnEez - Skip Until 1st July (jolly cup of tea)
Talamane - UP - Still will have the glory of getting rid of Angle
Armstrong - on deck - In the war room getting ready for Huyana
Berserks01 - Loves the smell of diaper bombs in the morning
Cosmichail - Just played - loves the smell of napalm in the morning

Berzerk thank you for letting me have the glory of finishing off Mao. ew that felt gooooooood.

EDIT: also we have 3 workers in that army stack coming back from once was known as China.

Yay! Our island is ours!

While we should build up our military, we should also get some settlers out to finish up our island. In particular, the two sites with gold are very tempting! It would also make for less and less room for barbarians (but hey, our Samurai could use the experience. :))

The end of the Spanish civilization worries me. During my turnset, we were second in GNP, but the leader had ~140 to our 80. I had hoped it was because they were in a Golden Age, but it appears that's not the case - someone else ate their island mate, and unlike us could keep the cities. Expansion now hurts our economy, but being big will eventually make up for it.

Yep I noticed those gold sites too and we should priortize them as they will help in our expansion. Poor Isabella got her pretty A%^ kicked. Must be another biggy out there. Let us go forth and fill the island and show them who's the big guy.

Samurai needs practice he say: likes cutting up barbs into little pieces.

I presume that makes me UP?

If so, this is a "got it". Wont be able to play until Monday, though.

HC made contact with us. I didnt see how, i presume he has a caravel on its way to circumnavigate the map. He ponied up 70 G and mono for lit. Revolted to organized religion to speed the forges being built in most cities. Since Sanctuary is always sick, i presume building a forge there is a no-no. Most of the military is on fogbusting/promo duty. Lost a sword to a double barb attack.

I built no settlers, nor are any being built. Might want to change that. Sapporo needs to start a theatre after the barracks. And it needs hammers, i changed the windmill to a mine.

Please start building roads. Angle is dust. I went for philo as trade bait, and as a possible lib slingshot. I dont know if we have the science/gnp to pull it off, but it's on the table. Philo in 1 turn.

Our new enemy:

HC_Calling.jpg

EDITED: See save below.

No tech trading, but we can demand techs

According to Jesusoneez we can't tech trade only demand. So trading those techs with Huyana went against the variants.

JesusOnEez - Skip Until 1st July
Talamane - just played
Armstrong - UP
Berserks01 - on deck
Cosmichail - bored

Nice to hear Angle is toast now maybe we have less barbs to deal with.

OK, everything is the same, except no deal with HC. Philo in two. If we get a great geek in Nagasaki, research paper, and then burn him for education. We would have a very good chance of getting the lib slingshot.

No Deal With HC

Talamane,

Sometimes it is easy to forget about the variants as in another SG people have overlooked the variants too. We just continued on but theortically it's a loss. If you are playing other SG's you follow instinct to get what you can. I certainly understand.

Okay, consider this a "got it." Are we really running OR? :crazyeye: We don't have a state religion :p

I think war with HC will start in my turnset, so I'll whip some galleys out to take the fight to him. Hopefully raze a city or two and then sue for a tech.

I think if we go for Liberalism, we should take Astronomy as our tech. So, I'll see what we can do tech-wise for that (no Optics for us yet right?)

Revolted to organized religion to speed the forges being built

Armstrong you have a good eye. I just noticed that too??? OR won't do us a bit of good without a state religion. D'OH...... Ok Talamane no beer for you whilst you play......LOL Oh Astronomy would be a great move to really start sending troops to our buddy Huyana. Guess who's coming for dinner.....

MOHAAAAAA(evil laugh)

I did not revolt to OR in the turnset i replayed. We should be able to extort the techs needed for astro from HC. We have three galleys ready at the rally point.

That's what I like about games, you have a second chance, and a time machine unlike real life. We'll have to kick him in the butt a bit first to extort some from him.

Hmm, how about nationalism for the freebie, taj mahal, golden age, and thence to mil tradition? All we would need to get is music and gunpowder, i think.

Okay, I played my set. Pretty quiet (except for war!) On turn 5, our borders expanded into HC's and Taoism spread to us, which gave me not one but two reasons to politely ask for his head on a stick. I razed the island city touching us (the Taoist holy city!) We're ready to land some samurai in his island.

We also met Washington, who is about equal to us tech-wise.

We got a Great Scientist, which I saved for Education.

I really need to get to bed right now, though... I'll post report tomorrow.

Okay, I gave you the short story above, here are some more notes, the log, and the save.

1. HC might have knights. We just can't tell without having Feudalism, so we need to be very careful. He also has Caravels, so we need to watch out galleys carefully. I'd unload the troops next turn just to be safe (though it's a bit of a walk for them.)

2. On HC's old island we have some catapults waiting for ferries across the channel.

3. As for the war, I wouldn't wage it too long - 1-2 more cities. I think the window of opportunity for Samurai is almost over. We'll need grens soon.

4. The Forbidden Palace is being built in Marubeni. We currently have 5 workers chopping it in, so it should be built within a few turns.

5. I researched Compass, which might not have been smart, but it's on the way to boats, and then Paper on the way to Liberalism. It comes in in 2 turns, and we have a GS saved to research part of Education.

6. Our eastern fog busters are waiting by a Barbarian city on the eastern coast. It's a good city - Iron, Cows, Coastal - so it's worth keeping. It's still size 1, however, so we need to wait for it to grow before capturing it.

7. I started farming Nagasaki so it can run more specialists. Right now it's running some scientists, but as some grassland farms are built it should switch to those to grow.

8. I did some whipping, especially in Sanctuary - 3F cottages produce more hammers than 0F3P mines. Just don't overdo it ;)

9. I set a few cities on Settlers at the end of my turn. I recommend we keep at least two cities on Settler duty at all times - we have a lot of land to get, and folks might be showing up with Galleons in a bit - we need to get our island colonized!

10. One of Lake Placid's farms can be cottaged - the irrigation chain can go through Lake Placid itself.

11. Now that we have Taoism, we should really try to spread it around. Sapporo is currently building a Monastery, but we could also revolt to OR instead.

Ara, I'm up again. Got it.

Turn 0 (preflight) - Everything looks good, micro Lake Placid little to get settler out faster.
Turn 1 - Our galleys dropped off that stack next to Vilcas. Our sword beats of a barb sword.
Turn 2- I decided to bombard Vilcas' defense down alittle before attacking. And let our samarai learn to run on water
Turn 3 - A barb sword attacked our archer and dies. I bombarded Vilcas some more.
Turn 4 - We take Vilcas with no loss, and saw another city nearby ready for the taking. Cherokee finally grew to 2, so we take it :) Paper learned started education, used our scientist and shaved 19 turns off of it. We might have to build a galley to "discover new lands" for the taking as we're still living with alot of fogland.
Turn 5 - One of our axes falling to a barb sword and another barb sword spotted across a river from another of our axes. I'm going to send some troops to fog bust til we settle the land.
Turn 6 - Our stack in Vilcas finally gain enough courage to start their attack on the next Incan city. I gamble and sent one of our galleys for scouting duty and the rest back to pick up more troops. Settler finished at Kobeyashi Maru, started another one. Settler heads to the only marked location left. There are barbs everywhere!!!
Turn 7 - More troops shuffling, more barb activities. Our stack advances on another Incan city.
Turn 8 - Vilcas sees the error of it's ways and agrees to let us lead them, started on Samurai. I intending on waiting til the worker are 1 turn from finishing the chop and switching over to barrack to take the shields.
Turn 9 - Bombarbed Olmec some, but their defense is still too strong. Decided to bombarb some more and maybe even suicide a pult or two before taking it. Learned Education, started on Gunpowder (next player can switch to something else if we're not aiming for this).
Turn 10 - Had to suicide 2 pults before we can take Olmec with no samurai loses, but we take it just in time to defend against that deadly stack.

Our settler is in position to settle next turn. We have some barbs that will attack next turn. The chopper at Vilcas will finish chopping in 3 turns, so in 2 turns switch to barracks and let it take the shields. Let's keep building cities to clear the fog so we can concentrate on cleansing the world.
